procrastination
:D I was gonna start this thread earlier but...........
Anybody else out there who believes that we shouldn't do anything today if we can put it off 'till tomorrow. |
I live it.
But somehow I get here despite myself. Thank god, I've got a brain some common sense and quite a bit of guilt. Otherwise, I'd never get anything done. |

If it's even remotely possible that someone would do something for me, then I'll be much less likely to do it. Like when the dishes pile up for days and the house gets messy...
But when I'm the only one around I'll do them. |
Good lord yes, I'm the biggest procrastinator you've ever met. It's definitely gotten me into trouble quite a few times along the way, but for some reason I just can't bring myself to stop doing it.
|
I always procastinate. My favorite story is when I has to do an 11 page report for school and I left it for the weekend before it was due. I turned it in and got an A-. :) It was awesome.
|
Procrastination... It's not a bad habit, It's a lifestyle.
|
There once was a time that I would procrastinate with everthing. I was at tafe (kinda like uni) I never got anything done. Then I started work and quickly learned that this is not the was to conduct life. Well not for me anyways. Now I cant just sit there and do nothing, so procrastination is not an option for me. Thats just the way I am.
|
I am constitutionally incapable of major procrastination. There are a few things I dread so much that I tend to put them off for a few days or even a week or two, or that are so insignificant I can let them slide, but usually I am unable to relax if I have tasks hanging over my head. I crave closure, completion, checking things off my list. You all hate me, don't you? :)
|
yes. i turned in my macbeth essay a day late and still got an A. while my friend spent a lot of time on hers and got a C. bwahahahaha.
i don't mind procrastination. i find it to be very low-stress instead of high a lot of the time. even when things pile up.. it's just that "don't worry, i'll do it when i do it" attitude. and i like doing things under pressure. it helps me :P |
|
"Procrastination is like masturbation, in the end all you've done is fucked yourself."
Popular quote but all too true. In HS i was absolutely horrible with procrastination and my work. Have a 5 page paper? You can do it the night before its due no problem... :p |
|
I think this applies to most people. Its the reason why so little people get As in exams, last minute cram :D
|
I procrastinate all the time. I plan to cut back now as the classes get harder.
|
Believe? No. Do all the time anyway, often multi-procrastinating by putting off more than one thing at once? Oh hell yes.
|
procratination? I'll look up what that means tomorrow...
|
Interestingly enough, I read a report in, I believe, Science News, that a study showed that procrastinators tended to live longer.
Reason being that, while their stress levels were higher at the times immediately before a deadline, they were lower on average than someone who does things on time before the deadline. Maybe I'll dig up the issue that had it....maybe tomorrow ;) |
I'm doing it now.
|
Ahh~ memories. Doing my ISUs in college the night/day of the due dates. staying up till 6 in the morn and wake up for 7.30. LOL skidded right into class before the bell rang. Oh yeah~!
Though I really wish I wasnt such a procrastinator, my life would be moving forward instead of being still.lol but im just to lazy to change it...Ill do it tomorrow.haha |
I would have responded sooner, but I had something else to do, like watch tv or something. I'll get someone else to answer for me.
Seriously, I am like a huge procrastinator. If I can get someone else to do some of my work, that gives me that much more time to put other things offs. |
procrastination last only as long as I can stand it then it starts eating me up to the point of becoming some hyper driven mad man wanting to complete whatever task it is an hour ago. I need to rush this now cause I need some more of that procrastination time.
|
If I didn't procrastinate as much as I do, I would never have anything to look forward to :(.
|
I'm sorry, but it took me a few days to respond to this thread. I finally decided that a reply would be the perfect way to put off the stuff I need to do at work.
I really hate procrastination. But it is so inviting that I can't always resist. |

I'm a hopeless procrastinator myself. I have been for years... I was hoping I'd grow out of it but no, not yet at least. If anything I've gotten worse in the 4 years since I left home - no mum around to "motivate" me (ie. yell at me) any more. If I decide I need to get something done and it doesn't have a deadline attached, it usually takes me at least a month to actually get around to it. I think it was about 3 months ago I decided I need to tidy my room, but apart from throwing some rubbish in the general direction of my "bin" (an empty beer base with a plastic bag in it :D) nothing has happened. Maybe I'll do it tonight. (Hey look there's some pigs flying past my window...) |
i sometimes get overwhelmed with the amount of stuff i should be doing. lawn, oil changes, dogwalks, laundry, sex, etcetcetc......
in the face of all of it, i sometimes just shut down & take a nap. feels good at the time, but when i wake up the list is still there. |
