Television and You
I just heard the latest research into tv (that's "television" and not "transvestite") watching and your basal metabolic rate: Apparently, your body goes into a sort of stasis when you watch TV - a vegetative state: Your heart slows down and you burn less energy than if you were just sitting there on the couch reading.
Maybe this explains all the fat kids around these days! Any thoughts.... |
its true. watching tv is the most passive thing us humans can do. Reading requires a bit more activity and processing - a few more cells are working than watching tv. I think the difference is, we eat way less when we read.

Not only will your heart rate slow down but the rate at which your hand approches your face (usually with food in it) is inversly proportional!! :)

I knew there was a reason I was cutting down on television intake

Don't let us turn into a nation of fat, mindless zombies. Drop that remote!
|
i need to turn off my tv more..
|
I watch too much TV! But it's hard not to when I steal cable AND Direct TV.
|
The average person watching TV has lower brain activity than say, a person reading, or even a person in Deep Sleep!

It's summer so I am watching very little TV... I hope this means I will be losing more weight...
