A man and a woman were asleep like two innocent babies. Suddenly, at 3 o'clock in the morning, a loud noise came from outside.

The woman, sort of bewildered, jumped up from the bed and yelled at the man 'Holy crap. That must be my husband!'

So the guy quickly jumped out of the bed; scared and naked he jumped out the window like a crazy man. He smashed himself on the ground, ran through a thorn bush and then started to run as fast as he could to his car.

A few minutes later he returned and went up to the bedroom and screamed at the woman, 'I AM your husband!'

The woman yelled back, 'Yeah, then why were you running?'

And then the fight started...

I really like that one.

Don't take this the wrong way because the joke is funny (and others like it are funny, too), but I've never understood the "double punch line" thing.

To me, the end of this joke is: "The woman yelled back, 'Yeah, then why were you running?'"

The "and then the fight started," is just extraneous.

I know there is a whole series of jokes like this.

Just makes me curious that's all; and yes, I know I'm over-thinking it.

Lol. Reminds me of the book, Cheaters. It mentions that ppl who sometimes wake up in the middle of the night confused as they try to remember who's bed they're sleeping in :)
