That's what I was like when I had 2.53Ghz with the 5700 Ultra 128MB.

I have a 1.5Ghz with a GeForce 3 64 mb and 256 ram......beat that for pure garbage system. Going to college and not having any money is sure starting to piss me off, especially when it comes to gaming.

dude that should run it fine unless you have like 256 MB of RAM.

i have a 1.6gHz p4 512ddr2100...it was dragging until i plunked out 200 for a 9800PRO...now it just kicks ass.

I basically have an indentical system.

Luckily, my brother's also into the game, so I can go hang out with him because he'll be able to run it.

wow,the game seens to ge amazing.it has great graphics(sad that they are too good for my pc),and it seems to have a good story.but i personally think that 98 % are a bit too much.if it gets s98%,it has to be almost perfect.yeah,maybe it is almost perfecct,but even than it is too much.so hl 3 will get 100% ?could be possible.
well,well,does anyone know the sytem requirements.maybe it will run on my pc*hoping*

I might have playedthe hacked counter-strike: source that is floating around out there right now, and I have to say, it is amazing. On my new comp that I just got about a month ago it runs flawlessy at 1024 with High graphics settings. The only thing I have a problem with is the sound...but then again my onboard sound is kind of weird some times. Others haven't had any problems.

I will be waiting to buy the hard copy of HL2 when it comes out to stores though.

PC Gamer states that the absolute minimum is a 1.2 GHz CPU, 256 MB RAM, a DX 7 compliant card, but they suggest as a "good" system - 2.4 GHz CPU, 512 MB, a DX 9 compliant card.

Man, those min requirements are painful. I would have to run at absolute lowest settings, and HL2 isnt meant to be played on low settings.

Well, tha 5700 Ultra was good without aa/af but now that iI got the 6800 GT I always like to use 4xaa/8xaf with about 35-65 FPS on most games.

remember folks, I'm running a gf4 here and I run this game at HIGH / MAX settings (no AA, which is common sense on a card like this) and this game runs PERFECT.

The only reason you need anymore more powerful then this would be for eyecandy which is allready damn good on dx8.1 graphics

This game is more CPU intensive then videocard.
