Half-Life 2
Anyone else looking forward to this?
This game is going to fucking rock, and (hopefully) won't ruin the Half-Life name by going multi-player with all those "d00d sp33k" people. But yeah, Sept. 30th is the planned relase date. This is going to fucking rock. |
I can't wait. Except I won't be able to run it...
SIgh, I live so far in the past without a 3d graphics card. |
1m l337 d00d sp33k. d00d sp33k r00lz f00

h4rdc0r3 f0r l1f3! PH33R M3!
and yeah, i'm really looking forward to half life 2. the first one is still the best game i have played on PC, and the second one should be even better. |
I'm wondering if the same team is working on it and if so, would they be building an updated Counter-Strike. Hmmmm. One can only hope.
|
i have been waiting for this game since i played the first.....it was my favorite 1st person shooter, and still is. I can only imagine great things for the second installment of this...i hope i am not disappointed!!!!
|
martyr...YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Can't wait. if you have not read PC Gamer yet, there is an exellent article about it. The good news is that they have the same writer and dev team, so the game will have some very familiar feelings to it. The new graphics and particle engine have been updated, and the game is now very scalable. Screen shots look really, really awesome. New bugs to fight, new characters to deal with. The headcrabs are even cooler than before! Woo! can't wait!
"They're waiting for you, Gordon.....in the TEST chamberrrr." |
Oh yes, the graphics engine is totally being redone, but still having the same "look" to it.
The scientist with with glasses looks to same but it has redone looks. I can't wait. SEPT. 30TH!!!! |
Yeah, I'm really excited. Not sure what it was about that game, but it was really cool. I'm using it as a really good reason to upgrade some badly needed computer parts. Hey, I want to experience the game, not just play it!
I just read somewhere here that DoomIII might be out in November...geez, I wont have any time to do anything but game this fall...heh heh.... |
yeah i wouldn't worry about that too much jujueye, Doom III is supposedly quite short :/
|
i hope it doesnt become like tf2
|
I heard Doom3 is going to suck like a Spice Girl.
That's why you download the demo's first, right? |
I hope there are some female scientists and such this time. Nekkid, of course.
|
To reply to why someone liked half-life but didn't know why...
The reason is probably that -stuff happened-. Things popped out of walls...you could save scientists...fight military....It was just cool. That's probably why. Like remember when you talked to the cop, and he was then killed before he could tell you something by a silenced pistol? Then the dudes in black suits jumped around and killed you? Sweet game... |

Seriously tho, I read that HL2 is scalelable enough to run on a 900mhz with a TNT2 card. I'd imagine that it would look like HL1 when scaled down. |
Johnny R: Gordon Freeman will have a new and rather attractive sidekick in this game. Her name is Alyx. And apparently there has been much work on her facial and body movements (did I say facial...hahaha) to make her very realistic. I imagine adding a little sex appeal to the game will add a wider audience. But seriously, the first Half Life sold over 8 million copies. Is that necessary?
Janki: tell us your system specs and we'll find a good card for you. Really! |

Ya supposedly the graphics for Half Life 2 are going to give Doom 3 a run for its money and if so, hot diggity damn. I had the alpha and the graphics on that were great and they could have only improved from there so i believe both of the games will definitely be worth the wait.
*edit for stupidity. |
Some of the Half-Life 2 screenshots I've seen are absolutely amazing... Practically photo-realistic. I really can't wait to play it... I'm afraid I'm going to have to get a new computer to run it though. :(

"Ya supposedly the graphics for Half Life 2 are going to give Doom II a run for its money and if so, hot diggity damn." I hope you mean Doom 3. If Half-Life 2 doesn't give Doom 2 a run for its money graphically, well......... Quote from CyCo PL: "I'm afraid I'm going to have to get a new computer to run it though." Granted, to play it well we're all prolly gonna need to. But the bare minimum requirements are a TNT and a 700mhz proc. I think almost everyone here has something at least similar or better than that. |
Dusted off Half-Life the other day and decided to go through that again. After playing it for a while, I realized that I'm really excited about Half-Life 2. The screenshots looked awesome. In fact, they looked so awesome, I was worried I was going to have to break out my IBM Deep Blue supercomputer just to be able to play it. Nice that they made it so you only need a 700MHz CPU with a simple 3-D card.

You guy's know if theres going to be a demo for hl2 ?????:)
|
this is off topic.... but the blue text in those sigs....almost gave me a siezur, whoa
|
Omg i cant wait till it comes out i loved the first one i still play it and ive had it for 3 years!!!!! It has to be one of the best computer games ever.
|
They're making a Half-Life 2?

I figure ATi will probably ship demos with new graphic cards. |
Very interested in getting this one. However, the STEAM release for online gaming is really very irritating. I despair that they'll implement this into HL2 as well.
Upgrading a few parts as well. Got a 128mb GFFX5900, and will upgrade mobo to support it, as well as new ram, and eventually new cpu (current is duron 1ghz). |
