I'm up to the second mission, my god this game rocks! I'm playing it on a 43" TV and 5.1 setup and it's godly. I was worried that the intensity of the game was going to be dumbed down (since the PS2 version of the cutscenes were sad) but from the moment you see Sam recognise Douglas in the second FMV you know this game is gonna kick your pants.
Thanks Ubi!!! Oh, and the Sony Ericsson thing is barely noticable, there was one point where Spoiler: Sam plugs in a data-stick into his Sony Ericsson PDA phone to see if a translator can figure out what the e-mail says, anyway, the translator makes fun of the damn thing, now that's not exactly a good way to promote a product is it? Superb game. Last edited by Mr.Deflok; 03-25-2004 at 08:11 PM.. |

I bought this game on Sunday. So far, the game is AWESOME. I still have my l337 skills from the first game, so I'm not screwing up nearly as much so far. But the game is already bringing back the awesomeness of the first game. All you obsessing over the Sony phone need a warm cup of STFU and "toldya so." It's barely noticeable and doesn't detract from the gameplay. In fact, when Sam busted out the memory stick, it made the game seem more realistic.
I love this game!!

the last level I did was awesome as HELL guys! I got the Fifth Freedom already (only the third level), which basically means you do whatever it takes to accomplish your task. License to kill and be seen. Kill or be killed. It was truly awesome. Had to waste about TWENTY guys (that's a lot for Splinter Cell) in a period of about 10 minutes. We're talking sniping, AND hand-to-hand combat. Sticky shockers never looked so good. It was the most badass thing I have ever done.
Spoiler: There was also one of those "you have literally one second to shoot this person RIGHT NOW or the mission's over, don't think, just do it." It happened to be a cool character too They haven't explained why I did it yet...but I was going down an elevator and the person I had to kill was a friend. They were on the floor that I got on the elevator at, and when the elevator started going down, Lambert chimed in and was like "SAM, DON'T THINK, JUST SHOOT THEM RIGHT NOW!" Crazy...

I'm up to Jakarta but that's the second to last level so I'm gonna wait a few days to make the experience last longer.
Not gonna read your spoiler Redjake! But what you said above it sounds a lot like the last level of SC1 when you've got Spoiler: Nicoladze and the lights go out. |

ok this game just got "Splinter Cell the first game" hard. I'm in the jungle now (long ass freakin' level) and it's beating my ass. A couple of parts were extremely hard (restarting 20-30 times). Particularly, when you have to run across the courtyard and through a door and plant a Sticky Camera near the guy to hear the Pandora Tomorrow password. Tough stuff. Ended up gassing the one guy with a Diversion Camera and then planting 10 rounds from the SC-20K in the other guy's face. Then I owned the dog. Hid the bodies, hauled ass to the location. Planted the camera. Listened in. Divvy-cammed another guy, headshotted another guy. Ran even faster. Down the ladder. Whew.

Whoops, the "Last level I did"? The one in the sewers? Yup, that was solid. For that sticky cam bit I whistled the first guard over to the checkpoint, headshoted him with the SC in the dark, shot out the light directly in front of the checkpoint across the courtyard which in turn draws the other guard to inspect it, headshot. Then creep out and shoot the doggy from afar. Now go up the pipe and shoot out all the lights on the balcony, there are two openings to hear the convo, use the leftmost one and aim just above the boxes below "The code for today is..."
This game owns me (but not in the way own would mean in terms of difficulty). |

You're kidding about the pipe part, right? I didn't even see it! I just went and opened the door to where they were talking and shot the Cam about two feet above the guys head (that was closest to the wall). Haha no wonder it was so hard. I was in 50% light also listening to the conversation. Crazy. I need to start looking around more.

oh man that's embarassing. I actually hid at that location (after shooting out the spotlight pointing upwards) and took out the guys from there. Terrible Now that you mention it, I definitely remember seeing that pole also. I don't know what my mind was doing at that point

This game Rocks.. Still have found enough time (away from Live) to get to the Israel missions. I am much more precise about hiding the bodies after my many fiasco's in the last game.
I love the non-lethal requirements, it takes this game out of the FPS realm. OH YEAH: REDJAKE: When I got to the point you mention in your "spoiler", I didn't even think twice. However, I am waiting patiently for the explanation (other than I did the right thing). However, it seemed during some of the conversations Sam had before they got there that he was suspicious also.

Mr. Deflok.. I just found out what happens..
If you don't do the deed, she comes back at the end of the mission trying to put a cap in you. So, if you do the deed, there is no explanation. If you don't do the deed, it adds a level of "excitement" to the end of that board. So no biggie, you don't do anything wrong by listening to LAMBERT. If you don't listen to him, it makes the game a little more interesting.
