Anyone here play Quake III?
 

I have full version but I mostly play demo. It's friendlier people.

Old skool. Don't play anymore but back in 1999 (when it came out anyway) I was Hardcore, I'd spend hours away at it giving up sleep nearly all together.

Yea I know it's old. That's why it's hard to find people that play it. I've just always liked it.

I love that game, gonna download the demo in a bit. And then see if I can find a place to buy the full version.

I used to play quake 2 a lot, then when III came out i bought it instantly.. I never really got into it though, it didn't have the same appeal as Q2. Haven't played either of them in years.

Yeah, used to play. Like others, I've moved on to UT2003 which taxes the hell outta my system....dang! You might also try Aliens vs. Predator 2. Now THERE's a great community. Lots of fun and only a few sk'ers...hahaha....

I tried a mod for QIII, it was called Acid Arena. If you've never played it and want five truly weird maps, download it. Its freaky, but well done. Everything is updated, from game vioceovers, to textures, to weapon sounds. Truly freaky, truly fun. I've never done acid, and now I dont want to.

So if my computer could barely run QIII, could it play UT?

In that case, try the original Unreal Tournament.

If you had trouble with QIII, don't spend money on UT2003.

I have but a 1G machine which runs UT and QIII just fine, but often chokes on UT2003. I still play UT2003, but all the textures are turned down and, well, that's not always fun.

I don't care about graphics. What about counterstrike?

Its to much hassle to find a good ut2k3 server. Every dm server runs some stupid jump mod low grav insta gib crap. And there is no strafe jumping which is a deal braker for me.

I finally have a computer that's good for gaming. Since then, I've dusted off my old Q3 disk and have started playing multiplayer arenas. I can't believe how good some people are on the servers, especiall with the damn railguns. Most kill me b4 I even see them. It also seems like a lot of people have hacks because it seems like their weapons kill me a lot faster than mine can kill them.

I need to find more newbie arenas.

there are not many newbie servers left. if you play q3 get the rocet arean 3 mod. thats all i use to play.

I've noticed that. It seems to me that I add a lot more to other players' frag counts than I do to mine!

Q3A has to be my favourite game ever. I used to really annoy people by running around smacking them in the face...
