oh and warning... remember those frozen beasties in act 5 and the blood lord demon in act 4.. one blows a ice frost (ice inferno) and the other a fire breath (fire inferno) in 1.10 they will drain your life quick.. (dont sell sojs to get the world event.. a bliz rep told me that isnt the way to get the diablo clone to appear.. its all random)

well, i finally got around to playing it, and in the ladder, its awesome, people actually dont fuck around as much. we got through act 1 the full thing in maybe an hour or 2, (andy dropped us lots of rares ) and it was all right again, although i haven't been able to see anything new, and im afraid of hardcore now. With all the synergies even MORE dmg is possible at low levels.

hardcore, lol. I have a 2nd account on USWest I use for hardcore. The patch is really scary in hardcore. Come one blizzard, most hardcore players already grouped together to stay alive. Some of the parts in this game is to hard not to for hardcore players without uber gear.
Now, the monsters have been beefed up and leech doesn't work as well as it used too. I've seen 12 people die in USWest hardcore since the patch and I'm determined to make sure my lvl 92 pally isn't one of them... I never made it past act v hell in 1.09 (lag sucks in the that area right before baal). I don't think I will make it past now. To tell the truth I'm scared to even do norm cows in hardcore now But hardcore aside 1.10 is cool in a freaky kinda way

a spearazon can solo cows and so can a necro, it would be easier for the necro once he got a few kills but it can be done solo.

Er, huh? I was under the impression that they had changed the rules about making cow games in 1.10. I have several lvl 90+ characters who were able to make cow games up until the patch, so does this only apply to newly slayed Baal characters in 1.10? Every time I tried to make a cow portal the mouse-over text on Wirt's leg would show up red in a NM or Hell game. Seems to work fine in a Normal game though. I'm pretty sure I haven't received credit for killing the Cow King since the patch. Am I overlooking some minor detail? As far as I know nothing's changed other than the fact that I can no longer open NM or Hell cow portals.

Oh man I was unhealthily addicted to this game a year and a half ago. My roommate and I would get back from class, do no studying and play until way to late. Weekends we wouldn't sleep until midmorning when the realms died down and we'd be back by the afternoon's once activity picked up again, only stopping to eat, and sometimes not even that. Then my college messed up my net connection and I couldn't connect to battle.net for the next year. I was devastated at first, but it was a blessing in disguise. I am tempted to return to D2, but afraid. I think i'll stick with my occasional game of StarCraft with a friend of mine now and then. It is nice to have battle.net back however, since I am off campus with DSL now...

The game pays attention to where you got the leg, I'm guessing you got the leg in Normal, so it only wants to work in normal, thats my guess.
Yeah I've found a bug, and also something that just needs to be fixed.. where do I go to let them know?

Been playing a while, so here's my report.
The game is alot harder but it should be, it shouldn't stay just as easy between nightmare and hell. My necromancer is level 63 and just made it to act 1 hell. I wish I would have stayed in nightmare until 70 at least. I thought it was ridiculous at first but after re-learning how to play it gets easier and easier. You don't go new acts as fast as you would before, and I depend on my merc more than before also. It has actually been so fun just playing the game that I never really payed attention to my level until the early 50s. There hasn't been a time(yet) that I get into a pattern of doing the exact same thing over and over while watching the xp bar crawl upward. My javazon can still do hell baal runs more than half the time. There are some times when the random monsters are too nasty.

I managed to get my necro to lvl 72 in hell. I'd suggest pushing on and not sticking around in NM since you'll get better experience and actually be making progress throughout the game. I play with an amazon so I don't have to rely too heavily on casting except for amp damage, bonewall, and corpse explosion. Sometimes I'll have to resummon my fire golem, but that doesn't seem to happen often now that i've maxed it out and put about 10 points into golem mastery.
I found a silks of the victor today, but it turned out to be ethereal, dammit. I guess my merc will be using this one when she's able to wear it (using a normal rogue who is only lvl 47 and keeps dying too much). So far I've been pretty lucky with drops that has helped me out a bit. I'm using mostly low level items, but they seem to do the trick: torch of iro, stealth armor, lore circlet, "eth" necro head, a caster belt that i crafted with some nice mana regen, some nice caster rings with resists, a +1 rare necro ammy with fcr and some other stats, sigon's boots for the cold resistance and frw, and a pair of crappy gloves with lit resist. I'm trying to craft some better caster gloves if possible. I wouldn't say that I'm struggling in hell mode, but it's definitely a challenge. So far I've only died maybe 3-4 times total and that was due to lag, and once out of stupidity (i.e. herding too many monsters that run way too fast in the dark woods for example). Best game ever.

have fun trying those cube recipies, getting your hands on all the parts needed to make those recipies would be harder than finding the item the cubing is supposed to create

If you can't find all the items for the recipes, you can always trade for them or shop/gamble for them. You've just got to know where to look. Do countess runs for runes. Baal, Pindleskin, Mephisto, and maybe Nihlanthak (he can drops items with an ilvl of 98 if you want to re-roll the stats on a small charm) for general magic finding. Hell Bloody Runs will usually drop nice magical elite items for the crafting recipes (like vampirebone and vambraces, or my favorite caster belt recipe using vampirefang belts or sharkskin belts). All you need to do is start collecting low-end runes and transmuting them into higher ones. With all the El's and Eld's you find, you should be able to do that in no time.

Lucky for me I sold my D2 CDs, or I'd have to give it a whirl and get hopelessly addicted for the third time. (First time was when I first got it, second time was when TOB came out.)

1.10 rocks so what if its harder, so what if hacked items are deleted, I know that I don't have any problems with that. But it is more fun and as it was stated earlier you don't look at your levels all that closley because you are haveing so much fun.

I can't believe that there are already level 90+ characters on the uswest ladder. Finally beat the bid D in hell mode with my level 79 necromancer today (I feel so far behind now). I *knew* I shouldn't have eaten or slept that day! :P
Hopefully I'll be able to find some ladder-only gear so I won't feel like I've spent all this time struggling with mediocre gear only to be converted to a non-ladder character once the ladder season is over. I admit, that's my main incentive for playing on the ladder (aside from being isolated from the folks who've accumulated godly gear over time). If only they hadn't made the Durance of Hate so ridiculously huge, I'd do more Meph MF runs. He still seems to drop more unique items than anyone else so far. Diablo dropped nothing but rares, that bastard. I have still yet to see the Diablo Clones in person.

ok.. You're saying once one person reaches lvl 99 the ladder will end? I heard that as a rumor once before, and I'm still not believing it... That would just be utter shit.. people racing to lvl 99 over and over and over again.... I want the ladder to play in a community where there aren't 50 million SOJs.. not where I have to create a character over and over again every 2 weeks!!!

I like a lot of the new cube recipes, but I'm a little miffed that they changed the 3 healing + 3 mana = 1 rejuvenation recipe. I thought it was too good to be true, though. At least it'll use up our gem surplus.
I'm kicking ass with my paladin, and my girlfriend is sucking with her druid. Neither of us had played a druid extensively before now, so I guess they just suck. |

what type of druid is she? Shapeshifting druids are the only decent type once you get to hell. Pallys are great support players just make sure you know who to build one or your pally will suck in hell too. Lastly, the great druid gear is a lot harder and a fewer in number than most other classes items. Druids can be awesome if they have the right build, elemental druid isn't that build...
