Agreed...Marathon (revolutionary yet mostly unheard of first person shooter by bungie, just after Doom II I think, with sequels) would make an EXCELLENT movie or 5 as well. That game has the best storyline of any game I have played in my entire life. Hands down, no competitors come close.

I think The Longest Journey would make a great movie, I mean, the game was almost like an interactive movie. The fantastic concept is amazing and seeing it acted out would be an amazing experience, in my opinion.

Warcraft would rule the universe. Either have Peter Jackson or someone direct a big epic, or Blizzard should just make a full length CGI movie.

Ok i got to thinking about all these cool video and computer games that would be awesome movies. I think that the 1 i would want to see the most is a Half-life movie!!!!!!!! Post what games u think would be good movies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course most of the really good games to movies would have to be a direct conversion of the plot in the game to the big screen, and I doubt that would ever happen.

Hmmm... I don't really like that idea. What would be the point? Be able to find out what happens in the game, without all the fun of playing it? Besides, most of these games take hours to play and having it unfold in 90 minutes might take away a bit. I think some characters might be cool for movies, but it always takes away a little when you're not controlling them. It's not "you" anymore, it's an actor portraying what you used to have some control over.

I do agree that a lot of those Blizzard games could make for some great movies though.

i think they´re already doing Silent Hill, so thats one down...

i´d love to see a really good production of Zelda - but maybe i´d prefer to see that made by Hayao Miyazaki... keep it in animation form and have the modern master work his magic.... i think that one would be good.

Metal Gear Solid seems like an obvious one to me. Those games pretty much ARE movies already.

almost any game by Blizzard, Oni, Soul Reaver, GTA (done already albeit indirectly in so many other kinds of movies), Neverwinter Nights (something better than D&D... that movie sucked so bad), and i know it's not a video game... but Battle Tech.(sure they made Mech Warrior, but it's not quite the same as the board/roll playing game).

Chrono Trigger, or pretty much any RPG by Square.

Final Fantasy: Spirits Within wasn't THAT bad. I thought it was good.

Max Payne 2. Game of the year. Easily one of the better stories out there.

I'd also add Wing Commander if it hadn't already been fucked up.

Half Life could do the job too.

Full Throttle would be awesome. Just as a pure goofball comedy film.
