Command and Conquer
I have played all the C@C games with Red Alert and Red Alert 2 as well. I read great reviews about Generals and went out and bought it. It was a great disappointment. THe graphics are good, but the AI sucks and the overall game play is horrible.
In my opinion Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge is the best. Does anyone here play online against others?

well just so you know, generals is C&C in name only, if it wasnt obvious. so its unfair to compare the others with it,
I got C&C 1 when it first came out, but now i play renegade, cant wait for renegade 2

i've played red alert (and the exp packs) and the red alert2 series and both kicked ass.
ra1 was way ahead of it's time and the game is still great.

Command and Conquer has always been, for me, Red Alert/ Red Alert II - never really got into the original.
Dune II however was what started my avid interest in PC gaming.

the Tiberian sun/dawn/twilight + Red alert story was excellent. RA 2 was kinda a rip off.
Generals was great... for 104 days but that's that. The upcoming zero hour xpax looks great though. but thinking again, dont all game trailers. Anyway i think it's mostly 'cause westwood is no more (techniccally), since EA bought over them >< |

The original is the best by far. Maybe because I'm a little nostalic because it was the first networked gameplay I ever had or maybe because I was 13/14 and so impressionable at the time.
But I mean you just can't beat the scene when you're playing as NOD and Kaine comes in and blows the dudes brains out and then sits down and starts talking to you. I think me and my friends watched that mission overview like 30 time cuz we couldn't believe what had just happened. |

Electronic Arts still owns all of Westwood Studios intellectual property, but atm they are more interested in developing sports titles and medal of honor games than doing another run of the mill C&C game. Westwood drove that brand name into the ground unfortunately.
