The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
Okay, The Witcher flew completely under the radar last year. This is unacceptable. It is one of the best PC RPGs of last year and arguably of the last decade. When it came out, the game was buggy. Load times were unacceptable, yet people still loved it and it formed a huge fan base. The game remained in development for a whole year after release and today Enhanced Edition has been shipped to US stores. Why is this Enhanced Edition worth your time? Well, for one, you get all this:
FOR $40!!! In addition to the complete original game and the bonus stuff you see in the pictures, the loading times have been improved by 80%, English voice overs have been re-recorded, over 200 new animations have been added, improved NPC variety, improved character models and effects, improved inventory system, streamlined gameplay. And if that wasn't enough, they have added two completely new quests (8 sub-quests) that add around 5-10 hours of gameplay to the original. Here's what you get for $40: Aside from the game DVD, we are including a DVD with a Mod Editor D'jinii, as well as two additional adventures, a video DVD with extended material concerning the making of the game (two hour long features), a music CD with 29 tracks from the game, a music CD with 15 tracks of music inspired by the game, an 80-page instruction booklet, a 112-page official guide written by the authors of the game, and a 50-page short story written by Andrzej Sapkowski (the author of The Witcher books). There will also be a map of the game world. For those of us who already own the game, everything mentioned above is DOWNLOADABLE FOR FREE. I played and finished the game before the patch that got rid of the stupid-long load times.
Truthfully, even if the load times hadn't been addressed, I'd do it again. If you are in to games of this nature, I cannot recommend it enough. |

This EE actually gave me longer load times, go figure. Not long like users reported for the original, but just a bit longer overall.
I still hate Atari for what they did with the forced censoring of the North American releases. Total bullshit. Glad mines from the UK.

Also, the EE download is slow because their servers are being raped. I left mine to download overnight because it was taking so long.

I have so many failed downloads of the patch, that my internet has been shaped. Sheesh! I even went looking for it in stores. None here carry it yet, and I doubt they will.
