Dude, try being from Saskatchewan.
I get super jealous of those folks in Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal who have meetups and such... Even the folks in Calgary tried to stage something. Success? I didn't read how it went. Edmonton is cool; my mom lives in St. Albert. All of my army buddies are stationed in Edmonton. Too bad the Eskimoes are going to get their asses handed to them by the Green and White this weekend. Bring a towel, cause the crying at Commonwealth will look like rain. Why you ask? Curiosity, Meetup, something?

My Uncle and Grandmother are in Edmonton. I have never been myself
Hey Ben, do you know Sergeant Major Les Johnston? He's retired now but was mean bastard in his day. His son is in the JTF2 and was on the ground the night the Ameicans bombed us in Afghanistan...

My Wife is from Edmonton and we often visit to see her family. I also worked there for a couple of summers at the Fringe festival and the University. Toronto has a lot of great restaurants but nothing equivilent to the High Level Diner or Dadeos!

Throw in a few Chartier's, a few Lablanc's for ethnicity sake, and I could not tell you if I knew Johnson or not. Maybe. Remember the joke "Do you know my buddy Dave? He's from Toronto..."

I was born in Edmonton, but right now live in Fort McMurray.
I plan on moving back there in about a year. And yes, I totally agree, Daddio's is a fabulous restaraunt, I had a major craving today for a po po. Most of my family lives there, and my brother even works at Decadence on White. |

Yep I'm an Edmontonian. Just south of UofA.
Surprising amount of Albertans here though. I expected more from BC and Ontario. P.S.: Anyone else excited about the LRT expansion? I'm pumped, a station is going in close to my house- It'll be a 2 minute walk to LRT and downtown instead of ~18 minutes to the Uni station. Supposed to go quite a bit southways as well, i'm not sure where it ends though.

I live in Calgary, but my wife lived in Edmonton for about 16 years, and we still go up there a couple of times a year to visit her brother, other friends, etc.
I kinda like the town, but I'm addicted to mountains and all the sports you do in them (skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, mountain biking etc) so Edmonton would not be a choice for me to live. It has nothing ot do with that ridiculous rivalry thing, I just need the mountains, and Edmonton is just too far from the closest peak. Peace, Pierre

Lived in Edmonton during my undergrad (1994-ish) on 112/whyte, and 116th street and 79th ave. Loved that area of the city. I love to get back, too, only it seems my visits are usually in the winter. Brr.
(also lived in Leduc, though never met ei555) |
