The "OLD SAYING" answer game......

Okay, it's late, I'm bored, let's start a new game!

The way you play it is I will start off by asking a question in reference to an old saying/expression and the next person will answer it any imaginable way they wish, then they will ask the next question in reference to another old saying/expression...

FOR EXAMPLE:

An expression to use "jack of all trades...."

could turn into a question such as "Who IS the jack of all trades?"
And someone else could respond......

"the wizard of Oz"

okay, get it?

Here's the first one:

"If you looked a gifthorse in the mouth, what would you see?"

Tophat665 08-31-2004 08:18 PM

Prob'ly the skin of it's teeth.

If a shave AND a haircut is two bits, what can I get for one bit?

one or the other, I'd say!

How would you land if you were flying by the seat of your pants?

on your ass!

How EXCATLY would I go about smacking you into next tuesday? And would you want to try it? I hear the weather should be great!

Tophat665 09-13-2004 06:26 PM

I think to get me into next tuesday would take at least a month of Sundays. If the weather is beautiful, though, I wish I were there.

If I were to beat around the Bush, would you give a rat's ass?

Sion 09-14-2004 03:11 PM

I dont give a rat's ass for Bush to begin with, so I don't care at all if you beat around him.

If a stitch in time saves nine, and the early bird gets the worm, why is patience a virtue?

Does a bear crap in the woods? There's your answer

Why is the grass always greener on the other side?

That would be because a bird in the hand produces half as much fertilizer as two in the bush.

If dead men tell no tales is that because truth is stranger than fiction?

shaggs_manoa 09-18-2004 07:40 PM

truth is only stranger than fiction when life imitates art.

If, however, art were to imitate life would lighting strike twice?

Tophat665 09-19-2004 07:22 AM

Were art to imitate life, then lightning might strike twice, but only once in a blue moon.

Should set a thief to catch a the thief that stole my thunder?
