rsl12's 30 sec mystery #7

it's a food product with which everyone is familiar. you can't buy it in a supermarket, delicatessen, or restaurant. although the packaging for the product shows the food product itself, it more prominently displays outdoor photos. what is it? ask questions if necessary.

It's not oxygen, is it?

rsl12 03-02-2004 09:22 AM

it's not oxygen, as oxygen is not packaged? i would say nearly every american has ingested the product at least once in their lifetime.

dimbulb 03-02-2004 01:24 PM

water?

though you can buy bottled water nowadays....

Lotronex 03-02-2004 01:55 PM

is it a grill?

rsl12 03-02-2004 01:58 PM

no, you can't ingest a grill! I should further add that you can't buy it at convenience stores either.

On the contrary. Oxygen comes packaged all of the time.

I'm not sure it's often classified as a "food product", is it, Bill?

rsl12 03-02-2004 02:10 PM

 No, of course not. I didn't mean to imply that it was. I just wanted to point out that oxygen is indeed...packaged. Although, the oxygen cylinders that I've shown above are equiped with a CGA-540 valve, and as such cannot be used in industrial applications. The oxygen contained within these cylinders is classified by the Food and Drug Administration as United States Pharmaceutical Grade (USP). Meaning...it's handled as a drug. /useless trivia

Actually, it kinda scares me that I still remember that crap. Especially the CGA valve classification. Why can't I ever remember anything...useful.
