Does this drink work?
I'm in thailand right now and am introducing the wonderful Jagermeister to them, but the don't like drinking things straight, so I'm thinking of some soda to mix it with

I think you are thinking of Goldschlager, silent_jay. Jagermeister is a dark liquor with a strong anise/black liquorish taste. nasty stuff imo. but to each his own.

Straight is plenty good but I have been told with Dr Pepper its good I cannot verify this though. I prefer kamakazes(sp?)

but the damn bars here dont serve red bull

and unfortunately there is no dr. pepper here, nor mountain dew... ah the sadness..

Yes, Jager and coke will work. It actually tastes slightly like Dr Pepper in my opinion. But why would you ruin/waste such a great tasting, expensive liquer, by mixing it?

Thailand, here on vacation visiting family and friends

so i brought my friends some jager because they've never heard of it before

a night out to them is a bottle of Johnny Red mixed with coke/soda water or just plain watered down

so i doubt they'd do much shots/straight drinking

oh, and Batman976, FYI, Mountain Dew is completely non-existant in places other than the US as far as I've heard. I think the same goes for Dr. Pepper, but I am unsure.

Absolutely!!!! I drink it all of the time. Jager bombs kick ass too!

Jager barrels are good too. Jager with Root Beer Schnapps.

so Jager and Coke worked out pretty well, a bit sweet, but a little soda water helped neutralized it.

The 151 that I brought was what got them.... and me.. :P

For me, Jaeger is fine straight, but the only mixes I have had with it are:

Staggering Bishop: Jager, Baileys, and Frangelico
Pepe Hitler: Jaeger & Tequila
Red Headed Slut: Not a clue - tasty though.

I've had a jager barrell gefore - the jager and root beer schnapps - also mixed with some sprite or 7-up. pretty tasty.
