So I was reading an article on the ESA's (European Space Agency's) Ion propulsion engines when I noticed an add for a Free IQ Test. After finishing the article I decided to take the test.

I scored a 129!

I now have to agree with CSflim that the test isn't all it's cracked up to be, and that they're trying to butter everyone up to buy the 15 page report. Still, it's fun to see what you get on an IQ test because it means bragging rights about your score, no matter how illigitamite the test ended up to be.

Thanks for the post! I'll have my children take the test. If they score too high, I'll have to consider locking them in the bell tower before they can overthrow the queen and I. If they score too low, I'll just wait for them to drown in their own drool.

In all seriocity, though, couldn't we predict that only the brightest minds on the internet could be schmoozed into forking over good money to have their ego stroked by these "e-mode"ers. I suspected that my test results (138, Visionary Philosopher) would be higher than some, lower than others. I'm curious as to how many tfpers shelled out for that 15 page report? (no, I didn't)

Impressive scores for all! But then, we already knew that we kept smart company.

ive taken this test about half a dozen times over the last couple years. never scored below 140 or above 170. avg is about 150

Theres always going to be some slight inconsistency and inaccuracy when trying to quantify qaulitative elements.

I don't really "believe" in IQ tests, and find a lot of the time poeple just use them to fuel their own ego.

What a bullshit test.. I made last years MENSA-iq test (half a year ago) and ended up with a score of 140 this test says I've lost half my brain and all of my logical abilities and dropped down to 129.. I'm guessing it is a random number generator giving out the scores.
You just don't drop 11 points in half a year, it's impossible.
