Acorn Squash
I had some good acorn squash the other day. It had brown sugar, cinnamon, and pistachios on it. I tried to make it myself but I don't think I cooked the squash long enough. So, how long should it take to cook an acorn squash?

An hour at ~400F should do the trick.

I normally cook cut in half, face down in a little water for about an hour, would you add the above later, or flip the squash and cook the additions in?
|
Sounds right, since I only did it at 350 for 30 minutes. I did cut it in half and place it face down in water. After that was done I flipped it and added the brown sugar and cinnamon. Then cooked for about 15 minutes more. After it's done I put the crushed pistachios on it. It would have been perfect, if the squash wasn't so hard :/

a great way to c cook acorn squash is to cut it in half put about
2 Tb. butter 1-3 Tb. browns sugar(your taste) sprinkle of cinnamon tiny bit of nutmeg(optional) bake 45 min to an hour @ 400 loosly covereded in foil for first half hour or so |
I rub the butter all over the cut edge and the inside then sprinkle some brown sugar on it then bake it an hour at 350.
The butter on the edge keeps it nice and moist. |
How long to cook an acorn squash? That's a question, isn't it? Looks like one...
