Uhh, what's with the 20 yr old guy with grey hair?
<img src="http://comingsoon.net/nextraimages/ffnewmrf.jpg"> I know that's how Reed looks in the comics now... but doesn't that look a little stupid to anyone else?

Nice, I was just thinking how cool it would be to make a Fantastic 4 movie.
Now if they would make a Captain America movie set back in WWII....my life will be complete.

hrmm... I gotta wonder.
I always thought that the Invisable Woman and Mr. Fantastic were a lot older. Looks like they are going sucker in the 20 something crowd. And Jessica Alba is a crappy actor. I'd have to say it's probably gonna suck. Just my first impressions purely based upon the pictures. No telling though... guess we will just have to wait and see.

Alba looks better than I thought she would.
Johnny Storm needs blonde hair, though. And it looks like they're going with the retro 'lumpy' look for The Thing. I wish they'd put in his extended brow ridges.

I would just like to take this oppotunity to point out that the Fantastic Four are almost certainly homosexual. Not that it matters, if they are, but all outward indications certainly point that way. Let me break it down for you:
First, they're Fantastic. That's not diagnostic by itself, but there's more. They all wear skin tight latex suits. Again, not diagnostic - they could be speed skaters, for instance. To really get at this, we need to look athe them individually: Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic. He's the man of rubber. Naturally, he's the leader of the group. Ben Grimm, how butch, he's as hard as a rock. Johnny Storm, the human torch. What a hottie. Can I say anything else but, Flame On! Finally it is worth noting that there is only one woman in the group, and she's invisible. QED (The preceding is not to be taken seriously.)

Okay I hate the idea of Alba playing The Invisible Woman. She doesn't look anything like her and she's not even blonde.
Not too mention this guy who'm I've never heard of and looks like he's 25 is playing a genius and wise scientist like Mr. Fantastic? The only thing that can save this movie is the effects team and good fight scenes...cause they already fucked up on the cast. Asta!!

Holy shit, Fantastic Four finally get a movie. I agree with most other posters, in that casting seems a bit off. But I'm still pleased to see these guys getting some big-screen action. Only one thing bothers me; No mention of Dr. Doom...
Also, just out of curiosity, what other comic book characters would you guys like to see on the big-screen? I choose Silver Surfer and Thor. GO MJOLNIR!

oy vey...not another attempt at drawing the young crowd by "updating" actors and making their characters younger then they should be (see: patriot games & clear and present danger and the final jack ryan movie....Sum of all fears? Jack Ryan goes backward and forward in time simultaniously.)

IMdB lists this guy: http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0573037/ Julian McMahon as playing Dr. Doom. I'm afraid he's going to look like a cross between the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz and RoboCop.

~BACK ON TOPIC~
They pulled a Michael Clarke Duncan/Kingpin on the Alicia Masters character. Kerry Washington/Alicia Masters Alicia Masters' was/is The Thing's girlfriend. I don't know if this is good or bad, but it is one more inexplicable change in an established classic comic. It also deprives us lovers of redheads another chance to see a beautiful redheaded woman on the silver screen. Of course, Kerry is a beautiful woman in her own right.

Dr. Doom is the arch nemesis of the FF, last time I checked, and it makes perfect sense for him to be in their first (and hopefully last) movie. Either him or Galactus, but I really don't think they'd want that long a movie to deal with all the story of Galactus.

I'm sorry but the picture of the commish as the Thing is really depressing. I'm a huge fan of the FF but that shit Looks like a 9 year old girl did it with a magic marker. I sure as hell hope they can do a better job than that.

actually it has to be Dr. Doom.. cranage is spiderman. Your talking to a loser that has collected comics from 1988 and up ...
actually they had a FF movie but it bombed didnt hit the movies and i think it didnt even get to vhs.. no dvd back then .. granted most of the comic fans finally grew up and said. omg lets me make the movie. ghost rider is on woot and i mean woot. thing is most of those my age. *cough* 31 *cough* want what we read in the comics not in games or cartoons. but you cant put over 30 years of material in 2 hrs so...

wait, i got the link from a marvel comic book source and you are telling me i am wrong? Carnage is originally from spiderman but spidey had to enlist the help of the greatest team of superheros ever assembled, the Fantastic Four to defeat Carnage because Carnage was too powerful.
I know it wouldnt go well into the Fantastic Four movie, but I want to see Carnage damnit. p.s. Jessica Alba is hot, but a shitty actress.

... a sort of licensed troubleshooter.

Jessica Alba is the hottest thing on earth, but she simply doesn't belong in this role. They should have picked someone older and blonde. They might as well have chosen Halle Berry.
My choices for Invisable Woman: Kim Basinger Jolene Blalock Brook Burns Angie Everhart Bridget Fonda Nicole Kidman (perfect) Tea Leoni Heather Locklear Admittedly, few of the actreses listed can act, but when is that required for a superheor movie? |
