With that out of the way... I have seen about ("aboot") 8 episodes of this show... It is fuckin' hilarious. If you like trailer trash humor -like me... then you too would probably love this show. It's Canadian and looks like it's coming to America via cable soon.

I highly recommend that if you get a chance to see just one episode -that you view season 3 episode 3 titled If I Can't Smoke & Swear I'm Fucked.

If you must have a synopsis then go here to read more about this particular episode.

Overall, I think certain "moral" elements will object to this show... But imho that just makes it all the better. (Alas "Soap" was one of my all time favorite tv shows...)

So common tfp... start downloading... Check it out -you can always delete it later.

Astrocloud 12-27-2003 11:49 PM

It's sad that I actually wrote a thread in the canadian webspace available for this show... Common tfp'ers at least edmit that you're curious...

sherpahigh 01-03-2004 03:33 PM

I've been a big fan of the show since I first saw the movie on Canadian cable a few years ago.

I love Julian and his rum and coke. He's never without one, even during a gun fight he's sippin on one.

Eviltree 01-05-2004 04:43 PM

I find it quite amusing

silent_jay 01-05-2004 09:05 PM

A friend recommended this to me but I have yet to see it. I'll take a look and report back. thanks

Charlatan 01-07-2004 01:01 PM

Apparently BBC America just acquired the rights to the show...

I highly recommend this madness...

Astrocloud 01-09-2004 08:37 AM

I found a few online samples from the website which may give you the gist of the show

The bible pimp one is the funniest imho

Plan9Senior 01-16-2004 06:08 PM

Bump. Just watched season 1 and I love it :D. Seeing Julien always holding drink in his hand kills me , so does seeing that fat security guard always walking around without his shirt thinking he is badass.

Thanks for making me aware of this hidden gem, i guess you Canadians actually are good for something :p

HeyAgain 04-08-2004 03:40 PM

Remember to catch the new season of Trailer Park Boys starting this Sunday on Showcase.

Fenton-J-Cool 04-08-2004 04:17 PM

I was going to make this thread too!! I didn't think anyone else would have heard of it ;)

It has to be one of my favourite shows of all time. I have all the episodes downloaded, and the movie pilot.
I am a toootal junkie.

Kaos 04-09-2004 08:30 AM

I only watched one episode when it first came on. I thought it was just ok, but I don't think I really gave it a fair chance. I will rent the DVD's and watch em.

silent_jay 04-09-2004 10:08 AM

Kazaa has every episode, all seasons, I can't wait for the new season, God belss the Maritimes, thanks

Booray 04-09-2004 05:31 PM

Thanks for info. Looks like something I might like. Pulling down the 1st season from suprnova now.

Just because Celine Dion, Alanis, and Bryan Adams have been stuffed down our throats over the years doesn't mean people like that crap. The same mindless people that like that stuff in Canada are the same ones here that do. I personally like Tragically Hip, SCTV, Kids in the Hall, Rush, and (the best thing to ever come from Canada) The Band.

Astrocloud 04-11-2004 03:44 PM

I can't wait for the new season to start.

Rush, I mean seriously Rush, man we don't even admit they are Canadian, so I wouldn't admit I like them if I were you.

Charlatan 04-12-2004 11:06 AM

Bubbles loves Rush...

sherpahigh 04-12-2004 11:20 AM

Caught the first show of the new season last night and it was a good one. I love that they stay true to the roots of the show and don't change it up to make it big in the US.

Don't cry shitwolf.

It's a show man. Ask the majority of Canadians they hate Rush.

Charlatan 04-13-2004 05:30 AM

Hey you're preaching to the choir... I don't listen to Rush.

DiffEng 04-13-2004 10:59 AM

The episode where Bubbles and Alex Lifeson (of Rush) are jamming is one of my all time favourite TV moments.

:)

silent_jay 04-14-2004 09:03 AM

isn't he the one who got charged with his son, when he pushed a cop down the stairs?

Astrocloud 04-22-2004 05:20 PM

Finally they are showing it on BBC America. Too bad all the swears and nakedity is censored out.

It's gonna lose it's meaning when Lahey starts talking about shit birds.

Antikarma 04-16-2005 03:22 PM

Season 5!! Starts tomorrow! Oooooh the gods have blessed us again...

/gets his rum and coke ready

Antikarma 04-20-2005 06:39 AM

So? Anyone watch the first episode of season 5? I won't ruin it for anyone but not a touch of the class and decorum of previous seasons is gone.

Gotta order my Sunnyvale Hockey Jersey online this week. Pure gold.

silent_jay 04-20-2005 07:47 AM

Great first episode for season 5, the show is still the same except Lahey doesn't drink, very odd things are happening at Sunnyvale

stevo 05-17-2006 09:33 AM

I just got into this show. You can watch them all streaming from google video. I fuckin atoljaso.

Thanks ben for the redirect.

I do need to see this series in order. I've probably watched a dozen episodes in the last week, but they are from here or there and aren't in order. Still gold though. pure gold.

thespian86 05-24-2006 08:24 PM

The cast came to my hometown to host a film festival. During the Gala I had to perform with a small ensemble cast that was featured in a local documentry about the arts scene in my town (i was currently touring Eastern Canada and Ontario with a production of Jason Robert Brown's Musical Songs For A New World; playing Man #2) When I finished belting out the last note of my solo, which was the last song featured in the performance, we bowed and went back stage to meet the actors who play Bubbles, Julian, Ricky, and Jim Lieghee (sp?). They stayed in character, asked me if I was a "fag", if that music was inspired by Rush (bubble's contribution), asked me if I had any weed on me and then attempted to fight each other. I just laughed my ass off. Julian, the actor who plays him atleast, used to work construction for my Step Father's branch of his company in Nova Scotia. It was grand. I brag when I'm with friends and land on the show.
