X3
http://www.darkhorizons.com/news.htm
X3: Aussie boy Hugh Jackman might be growing the sideburns twice more if an exclusive report from X3 Movie is accurate. According to the site, 20th Century Fox is looking to sign a two-picture deal with the actor - the only original "X-Men" cast member to have been offered a new deal for two films for his character (the others confirmed for "X3" like Marsden & Cumming are already signed but for just that film). Salary wise its expected to net around $20 million for Hugh, the deal would include either further "X-Men" sequels and/or a potential "Wolverine" spin-off film. Fox is apparently already developing the spin-off with Hugh, Kelly Hu and Tyler Mane apparently on the list to reprise their characters. It all depends of course on scheduling and covering the costs of bringing all these big actors together again. An internal FOX source says "X3, right now is quiet. No meetings have taken place, regarding the third film, but may begin in 2004. A Wolverine film, is also on our to-do list, but is in the same boat, as X3". |

Great. Yet another reason to curse hollywood everyday of my life for not doing the right thing and presenting it like that. Since it's in his past though, Madripoor would be a logic place setting, that's for sure, though.

Personally, I wonder what would happen if, in the movie soon to be made about Wolverine's past, Alpha Flight (or Department H)was included. It's almost certain that the lab complex and the Professor will be in it, though I wonder if Silver Fox, Sabretooth, Maverick, Deadpool, Vole, and the rest of the Weapon X project will also be there. On a related note, it would be interesting to see the fight between Wolverine and the Hulk, now that Hulk has a movie out - perhaps Wendigo could be introduced, though I don't think that his (or its, rather) cannibalism would go over well.

I think u might have made a few enemies talking smack about Gambit, besides there are plenty of worse characters like Toad for instance. Anyway I heard gambit will never have a decent role in any of the sequels mainly becuase hollywood feels his powers are "to close to cyclops, and his attitude is to close to Wolverines"
I agree though, this is the only marvel comic that had transfered decently to the big screen.

not so. What of Spider-Man? Though the web shooters were changed to his wrist itself instead of an apparatus, the movie was a good comic-movie translation/transition. Gambit - his powers - kinetic energy charging of objects - not quite close to Cyclops at all, except that he can use the charged objects as projectile weapons (sometimes). As to Bishop - given his history, it wouldn't make sense (even for the movies, pathetic as they are) to have him in X3 with the Phoenix Saga. After the Sentinels are introduced, Bishop would be set for a guest appearance, reminiscent of "Days of Future Past", but before that, his presence in the timeline would be almost as confusing as, say, that of Shard or Tyler/Genesis. also - Mind_Storm - besides his kinetic charging abilities, Gambit is also a member of the Thieves' Guild, and a master with the bo staff (though his seems to be extendable). Throwing cards is the least he can do.

in referring his powers to that of cyclops, I was only referring to a qoute made by some hollywood exec qouted on the yahoo movie page.
And later in his comic series, Gambit obtained the ability to remote detonate any object, whether he touched it or not, organic or nonorganic. So he could basically walk around and just blow up people, fuck the cards and I think your lame jedi with his bo staff would go pop! O and yes... Nerds Rule

ah. didn't know that Gambit had gained those additional powers. interesting. sounds a bit like Xtreme. though on the line of possible X-Men additional movies, what about the Mutant Massacre - granted, that wouldn't be til X5 or so at a minimum, but still - seeing the Mauraders fight and Angel get trashed...

Actually Gambits powers were incredibly formidable. In the future he's one of the elite mutants. It's not just cards but anything he touches that he can detinate. I'm not sure but I think he can even do that to opponents. I don't know any comic that has documented that though. I know they exist. Cyclops's powers pale in comparison frankly Gambit would whoop his ass BAD. In all seriousness Cyclops is one of the more inferior fighters in the X-Men. I'm waiting for Rouge to get her real powers, Jubilee to show up, and Beast (my favorite), and for them to finally put fuckin Juggernaut in the movie. I dunno how they would cast him though. He'd probably have to be all computer graphics cause no one short of Andre The Giant has ever been that big.

Nice that people are showing the X-men some love. I thought 1 was one of the best comic adaptations ever, certainly by Marvel (Spiderman was good until the last half hour or so), and X2 was just a good movie by any standards. Really great work the director has done. True to the comic, fun to watch.

Well I said Andre was the only one but I forgot about Kevin Peter Hall who played The Predator. I forgot how huge that dude actually was. I thought it was all graphics in the scene where he's lifting Arnold up by the throat and Arnold looking rather puny in comparison but apparently he really was just that big. Anyone who can make Arnold of all people look tiny deserves some kind of credit. I just wish I could find a picture of the actual dude and not just The Predator.

Hey K-Wise, found two web pages with some info on Kevin Peter Hall. Damn that guy was tall! Sadly he passed away April 10, 1991. I like this one quote from the web page about him.

it wouldn't be hard, necessarily to give rogue the powers of carol danvers again - just have rogue get captured, and forced to drain danvers, after which her new powers allow her to break free.

^yea in the comics Ms. Marvel is who Rogue gets her powers from, but they made this other storyline revolving around Magneto's machine in X-Men 1 being the source of her new abilities... I think they'd have to be very careful with how they evolved Rogue's powers in the next film because it has the potential to come off very cheesy and could lessen the appeal of the movie. Lets just hope whatever they do, it's done right and they don't ruin the movie.

I wish that the recent movies has most of the characters that I grew up with... I was really wanting to see jubilee, gambit, ark angel and some others that were in the 1990's cartoon. I loved that and I was hoping that there would have been more of those characters. I was also hoping that at the end of x2 that they would have shown phenoix. I loved it when they showed her on the cartoon. I had wished that I could have been her...... she was so hot.... haha... I hope that they so show a sequal and show some different characters. I also wanted to see the villans omega, juggerknot (i think that is how you spell :S) and some of the smaller villans like the stretch guy and the some other villans.. Another thing that I was hoping that they would have expanded is that mistique is rouges real mother.... I hated the fact that they only focused on the roles that were played by the really famous attention getters... I really enjoyed the movies! And I do hope that they continue to make more of them..

Didn't they mention the names of Gambit and Beast (their real names) in the second movie? If I remember correctly Gambit's name appeared on a list of names that Mystique downloaded, and Beast was talked about on a TV news channel. I think this was the writers way of paying tribute to these fine characters without actually having to put them in the film.
