Nudity in movies, we need better info!

Call me shallow, but whenever I read a movie review, I'll skip to the end and see if nudity is listed in the 'warnings' section. A movie is always better with nudity! Problem is, you never know if it's going to be girl nudity, guy nudity, or zombie nudity. If I'm expecting to see a nice ass, I want it to be a girls ass, and it's better if she's not all gory and dead. I'm sure that plenty of woman (and guys) want to see guy nudity, and I'm fine with that. All I'm asking is that we know in advance! I propose adding some new ratings;

R-FN: female nudity
R-MN: male nudity
R-ZN: dead or zombie nudity

Any others I'm missing?

Sparhawk 06-24-2003 05:30 AM

I'm with you. Now all we need to do is get Jack Valenti on board.

Troublebot 06-24-2003 07:38 AM

The only good zombie nudity is Linnea Quigley in Return of the Living Dead, and even that wasn't good after awhile.

warrrreagl 06-24-2003 07:47 AM

I've never understood how full frontal male genitalia nudity passes in an "R" movie (some nude guy running through the woods with his dick swinging), but they won't allow full frontal female genitalia nudity (some nude chick sitting on a chaise lounge with both knees up and a little furburger peeking out at the bottom).

That's interesting, I've always thought it to be the other way around. Full frontal female nudity is passable in an R movie (the only example that comes immediately to mind is "Interview with a Vampire", but there have got to be others), but I can't recall ever seeing full frontal male nudity.

Nikilidstrom 06-24-2003 09:18 AM

Yeah, happily, i don't believe I have seen too many swingin dicks in R movies, but I can think of plenty examples of R movies with bush. However, you never actually see the female genitals in an R movie, just the bush. I have seen at least 1 john thomas in an R rated movie. So i guess I actually have no point to my post other than keep the bush comin.

hmm.... basic instinct revealed quite a bit of sharon stone. though i'm not sure bush & breasts were ever revealed at the same time? maybe not full frontal nudity, but full frontal nudity in 4 dimensions:crazy:

You are missing a scary nudity category, like Kathy Bates in "About Schmidt" or Harvey Keitel exposing his stuff for the ladies. You can call me shallow too but I don't need to see that.

R-UFN Ugly Female Nudity

bartgroks 06-24-2003 10:53 PM

Anybody remember the Joe Bob Briggs drive in movie reviews?
Bring Back the Breast Count!

Thats what we need (along with more flicks with a high count).

Definitely add that one to the list!

Always remember:

"Brief Nudity" almost always means a guy's ass

monkeydriven 06-25-2003 10:41 AM

Go to www.cndb.com to get the lowdown on all nudity in films.

Kevin Bacon, he had a period there where every movie he came out with he had one nude frontal scene.

R-KB = Kevin Bacon nudity

LittleOralAnnie 06-25-2003 02:40 PM

I think a new ratings system would be a nice improvement from the norm. I don't mind either male or female nudity in a movie as long as I know what to expect.

Mr_Q 06-25-2003 11:07 PM

This reminds me of that SNL episode where they were going through ratings and the rating for Chris Farleys pants dropping as he was running away from the camera was something like TV-MCPFMA for "May contain portions of fat man's ass"

I'm not sure the nudity thing would really help all that much - It would be nice, but it's nothing to judge a movie on. I'm not gonna boycott a movie just because it has a little male nudity, and I'm not going to watch a movie just because it has female nudity. And I hope I never see zombie nudity. That's just disturbing...

Anyway, if I really want to see nudity, I can always come here.

Ahhh, you read my mind. The good ol' Celebrity Nudity Database. Search by actress or movie. It can come in pretty handy.

Like 10 years ago some guy published a book with this type of info. I think it was called 'The Nude Facts'. I remember reading some comments from the author about how he had his wife and kids all watching movies to record when there were nude scenes. The first issue was only sorted by movie title, not by actor/actress because the author didn't want the book to seem too perverse (?). I guess he got a lot of mail to the contrary; the next release was sorted by title, actress, and actor. The quality of the nudity was also rated.

At the time it was a great reference guide. Every time I watched a movie on Cinamax, I'd look it up to see if it had any good scenes.

Derwood 06-26-2003 06:10 AM

It was called "The Bare Facts". He rates each nude scene on a scale of 0 to 3 stars, and tells you the exact minute/second in the movie that it starts (in case you really feel like renting a movie and fast forwarding to the nudity).

cndb.com is fine and all, but they have tons of listings for people who are never nude. I mean, they have Jennifer Love Hewitt listed for about 8 movies, and she is never nude in any of them!

vermin 06-26-2003 06:12 AM

It's called The Bare Facts and I have a copy. Unfortunately it (fourth edition) only goes up to 1993. It's sorted by actress, actor, and movie title.

Jesus Pimp 06-26-2003 06:28 AM

I haven't seen nudity in a rated R movie in a real long time..

seretogis 07-08-2003 07:05 PM

Frontal male nudity is typically brief, and the deciding factor on whether it slides in as an R-rated movie or if it is rated X seems to be whether or not the guy is sexually excited. Flaccid penis = R, erect = X.

Comparatively speaking, there is far more female nudity in movies than male, so I don't know what you're complaining about. :p

I'm not complaining about the quantity of nudity (although more would be better), just that I want to know what to expect. Besides, I like to complain. Ask anyone. :D
