Trailer Park Boys?
Anyone big fans of the show? I was just introduced to it about 2 weeks ago, quite possibly one of the best show's I've seen in a long time!!
|
never heard of it. what channel is it on?
|
it's a very funny show.
cbc i think. i've seen a bunch of episodes, but always from friends, so i have no idea how long it's been on, etc. |
cbc...that would explain it...dont get that in these parts
|
It is pretty funny. I've only seen one or two episodes, though. I don't have TV service. It's currently one of Canada's top shows. That, Little Mosque on the Prairie, and Corner Gas.
Canadian television exports? Who knew? Isn't their a feature movie too? |
little mosque on the prairie is less funny but still worth watching.
you can see 8 episodes or so on youtube. |
i'll have to check that out
|
Ya, its not on any channels in the US, however you can get all of the Season DVD's on netflix, its good stuff!
|
Its a Showcase show. Showcase is a Canadian cable/satellite specialty channel that shows more "edgy" type shows (the "L" word, etc).
TPB is a phenomenon. It's been on 7 seasons. It started out as a Canadian mocumentary inspired by 'cops', but doesn't have the same -shaky camera crews getting in the way- feeling it used to. The actors don't appear in pubic out of character. There are always funny little details of life in the park that I get a huge kick out of, but my wife has never developed a liking for the show. I can certainly understand how and why she dismisses it as stupid, but I'll leave it on when I find it. Some very canadiana references (Rush, anyone?) that are awesome. A couple years ago, when I still worked at a bar in the evenings, three of us dresses up as the TPB for Halloween weekend. I grew facial hair specifically for it and had to hit up several used clothing stores to get the right track-pants. I haven't seen the movie, but I've heard good things. I like Corner Gas (CTV production), but don't think Little Mosque is very entertaining at all (CBC production). I didn't give it much chance though. |
The show is hilarious. Just beyond reality enough that I find it funnier than It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (honestly can't stand watching that show, despite actually laughing at some parts in it). I didn't know there was a movie out there.

Trailer Park Boys is definitely TV for Guys.
I think we all know people just like the main characters. The best episode had to be when Ricky got shot in the ass twice in one day. Once by his 7 year old daughter, and once by the guy whose ride on lawn mower they were trying to repossess. |
This was my favourite discovery of the last year. Perfect stoner TV and so very funny.
I'm on series 7 now and since I've watched both the movies I can't bring myself to finish it... |
How can anyone like this show? Every episode I have ever seen I have absolutely hated. I don't know, it just seems like really retarded humor, doesn't do a thing for me. Then again I love The Office and that has terrible humor as well. Maybe I should give Trailer Park Boys another chance.
Bubbles is amusing to look at though, and I have always liked your avatar james |
Trailer Park Boys... finally are moving on. Ricky, Julian, Bubbles, we were just getting to like you...

Aww man, that is seriously some bad news :(. Both of my favourite Canadian shows are coming to an end. Corner Gas, and now this! Fuck!
/goes and eats a dirty burger |
Show for guys? HA! I have to drag my girlfriend out of the room when that show is on... I mean, I enjoy it and all, but after watching two seasons in one sitting, I have to move on ;)
Meanwhile, it's easy to find on torrent sites, or low quality rips on youtube. - jesiah |
Trailer Park Boys is lowbrow Canadian humour at it's best. A masterpiece, it truly enshrines the
stereotyping of those who in in trailer parks. My favourite bits involve their nonchalance about going to jail, and of course, anything Bubbles says or does. Anybody notice I spelled "humour" and "favourite" correctly? |
