Leno or Letterman?
I personally think Letterman is better. His opening monolougue is better and his sketches are better. And plus what does Leno have to match the Top Ten Lists Dave puts out? Hell even Dave's band is better.

I was a Leno fan for quite some time. Until I realized I only liked the "Headlines" sketch he does.
I found some of Letterman's sketches to make very little sense......which is the kind of humor I like.

That's funny. I guess that it would be 75% Letterman and my vote made 3 for him and one for Leno.
Leno's never been funny. He's just too tame and annoying and whiny. Dave used to be way better than he is now, but he still beats the hell out of Leno. Funny I came across this now as I'm just starting to watch Letterman.

I'm voting Letterman, only because I can't pick Conan. His oddball self-depricating absurdity speaks to me. But I definitely agree with both Miserlou and eyeronic that I love Letterman's nonsense, but he has been going downhill for quite some time.

No question, Letterman is better. I just never did like Leno much. But yeah, Conan is definently up there too! Gotta love that guy

Letterman is definately my favorite. The CBS mail bag is always hilarious. And Letterman is always so at ease, he'll just go on talking about some crazt subject with Paul for the rest of the night or keep bringing up some stupid joke. It's great!
I also love his "oldness", he's always like, "...the home viewers...". Classic stuff. |

Leno blows. I can watch him interview people I know nothing about, and then at the end of the show I know nothing about them. Letterman can interview people I know nothing about and then I'll know a little about them when it done. Leno has some decent one-liners but he seems like he's doing it all for himself instead of for the audience.
Conan frickin' rules late night though.

Otherwise, I enjoy Letterman...but flip back and forth b/t commercials sometimes..(see if jaywalking is on.. But now I don't watch either I go to bed to early. I'll make it a point to watch letterman tonight though...He definately is funnier.

I cannot stand Leno. He is not funny. The only things funny on his show have nothing to do with him. The headlines are funny because they are funny, Leno only makes them stupid. For the true test, watch an interview when the guest is not very engaging or funny, it is so pathetically quiet because Leno needs someone to carry him. Plus, all the things people like about Leno, he ripped off from Letterman, i.e. going outside the studio, interviewing people on the street. Letterman has been doing that stuff for years and Leno ripped it off when Letterman was killing him in the ratings at first.

I'll admit I've very barely watced Letterman but I used to watch a lot of Leno while I was on the computer so I could just leave the tv on for Conan. I finally got fed up with the same monologue every summer night of "Boy you know its so hot outside. How hot is it?" jokes followed up by constant refrences to fast and the furious (yeah this was few years back). I am a huge fan of Conan's though his humour is right up my alley. Of course anyone who still makes fun of Armageddon years after its been out on video is a ok in my book.

Conan...all those people he kills with that big sword and then looks at the camera with that satisfied smile, yelling with his accent...what, not that one...Conano O'Who...then I'll vote for Letterman

I really like Letterman and Conan, Jay sucks, but I think the best late night comedy host is by far The Daily Show's Jon Stewart. He's fucking hilarious.

Of the two I guess I like Leno a little better, although I don't really watch either one of them. I prefer Conan.
But the one I really like, and I try to watch every night is Jimmy Kimmel. Man this guy is hilarious. I love the fact that he isn't afraid to insult his guests and make them look stupid. And he always tries to introduce new comics and music talents that aren't famous yet. |

Dave is so much better, I think. He is the complete package, really. Good interviews, good skits, good monologues, everything's good. Dave's kind of like a more mature Conan.
Jay, on the other hand, has stupid monologues, he does the same skits every week, but his interviews are sometimes decent. He seems to attract bigger guests, too, like Paul McCartney was on the one time. Macca didn't do any other interviews except for Jay.

Conan... for Triumph alone. And the bulletproof legs guy.
It's great that even though the technical work on Conan is so atrocious, the writing is so good that it carries it. No one cares that you can see the arm operating Triumph, or when the mouth is moving on a picture of a celebrity, occasionally the person doing the mouth moves so the mouth isn't lined up anymore. Maybe they do it on purpose. It just wouldn't work anywhere else. Letterman of the two choices, though. -Mikey |

I've rarely watched any Conan. He's on too late for my blood. But what I have watched is damn funny.
Letterman though is funnier than Leno by a long shot. To me Letterman does shit that either works or doesn't and even if it doesn't it's just damn funny watch him try to make the best of something that is just horrible
