24 Season 6
Hi, did a search and didn't see anything on this so I'll get it started
I made this a week or so early because the first four episodes were leaked onto bittorrent, and I wanted to see if anyone besides me is resisting the temptation to download them It's especially difficult for me, I'm a huge fan of 24... I don't care how over-the-top it is, or how artificially fabricated the tension is, as far as I'm concerned it's the perfect guy show. I believe this because: - People die all the time, nobody is safe! - People die in cool and exciting ways (Brutally deadly virus what!?) - Shit blows up all the time - Shit blows up in unique and exciting ways (helicopters getting blown up by F-14 what!?) All it doesn't have that a guy would want is sports and sex... and you can get those in abundance in any number of other sources. 24 is the action God... and I can't wait for the 17th. Even if I could watch them now.

if they do "random terrorist" again, i don't think it will keep me interested for all 24 episodes. they killed off too many good characters in the last season. also, it's become too predictable with the "spy in the office" crap. on no! it's cloe, no it's tony, or maybe bill or audrey? etc... it gets boring after seeing it 5seasons in a row. they need to do something refreshing in this one.

Well, that's what scary to some people. But you have a point, 1st season was Europeans, and the second as well. For once, let's have US rebels try to over throw the government.

I enjoyed the first 4 episodes. Some interesting twists, but nothing spectacular. For me, 24 is still entertaining, but it's not as "ooo, wow" for me anymore.
Still something I'll watch though. -Tamerlain

I had never watched 24 until the Christmas before the one just gone when my partner bought me series 1 on DVD.
In the last year I watched all 5 series and am a complete addict! We just started re-watching the first series and I have to say that I think it is the best...My missus still doesn't know about the twist at the end, so am looking forward to her reaction! Lets hope that this new series is good. I would agree that some US native terrorism would be a nice twist. I heard somewhere that President Logan is to make a return too - that would be rubbish, I didn't enjoy his character one bit in series 5...

I never watched 24 until last year and then I watched all 5 seasons as quickly as I could.
I watched the first 4 eps of S6 and the first 15 minutes of epi 5... somethings disappoint, some things kick serious ass. I'm really glad with some of the casting choices they made. I'm glad as well with what they've done to with Jack's character. Unfortunately, I have no TV in my home so I'll be forced to dl or visit friends to watch... fortunately I know many 24 fans

I'm really tempted to go get those eps but the probelm with that is that I'll just have to wait again. If I was disciplined enough I'd download them as they get released andwait until the whole season was over to watch them. That way I wouldn't have to wait a week each time.

Yeah I saw the first 4 eps a few days ago as well, this season has a much stronger start then I anticipated. Heres hoping for the best!
Spoiler: Between Jacks new character, and the fact they actually set off a nuke in this one; it has such huge promise I cannot even start to guess what will happen. Maybe even the W.House will get attacked in this one. The way its going who knows!

Spoiler: Dear Curtis Manning,
Why did you decide it was a good idea to show down against Jack Bauer? I really liked you, but you clearly did not watch the last 3 seasons you were in. Thanks for being a dolt. Sincerely, Me That aside. interesting start. Guess we'll have to see where it goes. One thing I will say, I really like that this season started in medias race. A bunch of stuff had already been going on and we get dropped in the middle of it. Different twist on the start. Last edited by Frosstbyte; 01-15-2007 at 10:53 PM.. |

What's more important than anything that has happened so far is that now we have to watch 20 more hours of Jack picking up his cell phone to his ear with that nasty burned flesh hand. Sick. Someone should fill him in about the concept of a bluetooth headset...

What I have been suprised with so far is that I have not seen Jude Ciccolella (Mike Novick) at all so far.
Unless I missed something last season, he was still a high quality good guy. Karen snatched his job maybe?

Isn't Peter McNichol the Cheif of Staff now?
It's good to have a Palmer in the Oval Office again.....how I miss David Palmer, he was like all the best qualities of our past 50 years of presidents combined, and a psycho ex-wife that makes Hilary look like Mary Poppins. |

Yes. He's been masterminding a lot of the stuff that has gone down in past Bauer excursions.

Jack's brother being the mastermind behind the events in season 5 was an interesting twist. I like where this is going... I wasn't to sure about the season from the first four episodes.
I think Jack's nephew ending up being his illegitimate love child would be kind of cheesy. Plus, the kid looks younger than Kim, and I don't think Jack would have cheated on his wife. Although there was that period where they were separated... but he was with Nina. Either way, I don't think he'll end up being his son. -Tamerlain

I don't think the Blue Tooth Group is behind this. If my memory is correct, the nerve gas was supposed to be used outside of the country so that the BTG could get more money. I don't think that these guys would be a part of setting off nukes within the country. It is very obvious that the guy who is helping them knew the bombs would be detonated in the US.
I think his involvement is mainly to have an arc between seasons. |
