What should I expect from comcast?

Comcast bought out Timewarner here in Houston. How do you comcasters like it? Hows their internet?

Comcast blows. My internet has been fine, I guess, pretty standard-issue stuff. But holy crap if you get cable tv you are in for some bad times. Every few months they seem to remove a few stations from my package, only tell you on the bill - where of course I'm looking for such info - and charge me the exact same amount.

Awful, awful people, Comcast. Really terrible.

I had Comcast for a couple years, and the internet was fine. I also had basic cable, and I never had any issues with that either. I enjoyed the special offers they had because you didn't have to sign a 1 year contract like most phone companies make you sign for DSL.

I have Comcast cable internet aswell. I've never had troubles from them.

When we had Comcast, we were required to get basic cable with them which was an extra charge that pissed me off; all basic cable was was the home shopping channels, Hallmark weepie channel, and the Travel channel. Basic cable was $15, and it was a complete waste of money. The actual service was meh...it was fast, but at least once a month it would go out for a day or three. When we moved, we got DSL and have been pretty satisfied with it. It's not as fast, but I've never had it go out on us.

Phone companies make you pay for a basic phone line to get DSL as well, so I don't think this is really a fair argument against Comcast (or other cable companies). If you use your cell phone as your only phone, then paying for a phone line is a complete waste of money too.
