Hi folks. This is the latest. It's big (1.4 metres wide) and it's called 'Transition'. That probably won't mean anything to anyone, but I'd love to hear your comments.

Lewis 06-26-2004 08:48 PM

Actually, I just measured it. It's nearly 2 metres wide! The scale of it does something else...

Fremen 06-26-2004 09:11 PM

I really like it. :)
What did you use to create it with?

majik_6 06-26-2004 11:30 PM

That's a really nice piece! I like it.

(and i'm also curious to know what medium it is)

Nancy 06-27-2004 01:56 AM

haha I love it Lewis! So.... is it a gift for someone or is it meant for a special spot on your own wall?

Lewis 06-27-2004 06:18 AM

Thanks everyone, for the encouragement. Actually it's in good old oil on canvas and done by hand.

A special spot on the wall? Well, I was thinking of using it as a wall. It needs a big space...

Hi ART. Thanks for the comment. I just had a look at Kenny Scharf's site. Thanks for suggesting him. This guy really enjoys his work! I think I'm more introverted - typical artist, more of it coming from pain and searching than pure fun.

ARTelevision 06-29-2004 05:57 PM

yes. he had a lot of pain as well.
...transmutation of tragedy into comedy or something.
anyway, damn nice piece and thanks for posting it here, Lewis.

KellyC 06-29-2004 06:31 PM

hey lewis, sorry I hadn't commented on this earlier. I dislike disney a good deal, but I like the painting behind goofy ^__^ Is goofy a part of the actual painting?

No problem, you're not obliged to but of course I appreciate any comments - and please regard it as OK to criticise, hopefully constructively.

I'm not a great fan of Disney by any means, but there were a whole load of circumstances and things that came together to make this picture, and it just seemed to fit.

I don't generally go into those types of explanations, though, as I have my experience doing it, and anyone looking at it will have their own - and it's all just as valid. So, if you hate it - great. If you love it - great! I just hope it does something for someone...:)

Lewis 06-30-2004 12:05 PM

Oh, and sorry, I didn't answer part of your comment. Yes, Goofy is in the painting.

pinkie 06-30-2004 01:16 PM

Awesome. I love large pieces. It kind of reminds me of a Robert Williams painting.

Nice. :)

animosity 06-30-2004 01:28 PM

hehe, thats great. its like 2 worlds meeting in the painting.
