In the very near and semi-dark future when the heavy yoke of our Tapiocaian Overlords oppresses us, you shall pay for your arrogant swigging.

But they are quite delicious,

It is said that He will return,
causing worldwide insanity and mindless violence before finally displacing humanity forever.

I understand how people consider him to be a monster.

Y'all have seen this guy before, but he was considerably cuter last time.

This is also the first time I've added a 3d character into a photograph. It was easier than I expected. I just built the floors and walls, guestimated the location of the camera, and rendered. Its not perfect, but I suppose it works. The shadow was a fast job in Photoshop.

Crits welcome!

I'm using Maya 5.0 with the built in Fur engine and renderer.

Basically what you do is select the geometry you want fur to be on and you assign a new fur definition. From there you change attributes and do many, many test renders

I found one of the most important aspects of the fur was to have your UV's layed out very well. If the UV's are good it makes painting attribute maps very very easy. For instance, the lack of hair on my characters face, hands, and feet is due to the baldness map. Hair color and length were also specified with attribute maps, but EVERY attribute can be mapped.

There's a decent amount of info in this tutorial list: http://www.learning-maya.com/cloth.php

Feel free to IM me with any real time questions!
