Lingerie
I'm trying to get my mojo back. I'm thinking some sexy lingerie will make me feel good. I might actually feel like dating....and possibly sex.
I am looking for suggestions. What do you like? Where do you shop? I'm an amazon with some big funbags. Victoria's Secret has a limited selection for a broad shouldered DD lady. I've looked at Torrid as they cater toward the more curvy lady. (I like shopping there because I wear the smallest size they have. I like to pretend I'm a size 0) I just have never tried their lingerie. What sort of pieces do you like? Teddies? Corsets? Crotchless panties? Do you gravitate toward any certain sort of bra? What sort of lingerie makes you feel sexy? |

As some one who is close to your size (I think), I prefer Fredericks of hollywood for my bras. The X-treme cleavage brand is what I wear on a daily basis. Their corserts are cute but are only for the bedroom, and to be removed promptly. the boning just doesn't hold the way a real corset does.
If you want a real corset, timeless trends is a great place for quality, yet reasonably priced corsets. <3 mine! Hips and curves is another good place to look. All for plus sized ladies but all very cute. They also have nice corsets. If you are the smallest size at torrid, which I am as well, you will be in the smaller sizes on hips and curves. They have a facebook page and post random drawings and discounts all the time. I'm sure ill have more to add later. I love lingerie! But I am on my phone right now.

Another vote for Hips n Curves. They have specials all the time, very quick shipping, and pretty reasonable prices from what I could find.
I can't vouch for Federicks as there isn't one that I can get to with any consistency, but I've seen Star's cleavage in person and whatever she works is definitely working for her!

Hubby isn't big into lingerie, and neither am I, to be honest. I don't feel sexy when I'm uncomfortable. I own maybe one sexy nightgown that my mother bought for me, and it's not so bad because it's cotton jersey and super soft.
But my sexiest underwear has generally come from Nordstroms. Their lingerie department often has good sales, and even when I was a size 14, I didn't have any trouble finding stuff there. The lingerie shops here in town are nice, but holy crap, are they expensive.

The only items I wear regularly are garter belts with stockings. And as the bf and I have become more 'settled in' that's really all I bother with. They make me feel sexy and, boy oh boy, the bf 'schwings' like crazy once they're on. And that's that.

I'm with snowy - I don't care for lingerie. If I can't sleep comfortably in it, I don't want it. I've also found that most lingerie is itchy, and itchy does not equal sexy. I do have a stretchy lace nightie and a sheer nightshirt that are very comfortable and sexy - I need to lose 10 lbs to fit back into them though.
When I want to feel sexy, I go for a sheer-ish clingy top or tank and boy short undies. Hubby seems to like my choices. I have several tops that are see through and I've gotten them at various places - Target and VS off the top of my head.

I understand that a lot of women aren't comfortable with a lot of Lingerie. Either it's just not comfortable or it's not them. I know men don't like "wrapping paper," but this isn't about the men. This is what I feel sexy in. I like getting dressed up and I like lingerie. I like the way it feels.
I suppose I wasn't clear on why I want the lingerie. It's really just for me. I'm not looking to have it as part of foreplay. I'm not really looking to have sex at all. I just don't feel like I used to when I dressed up as more and wore sexier undergarments. You can tell me it's a state of mind and it's not about the clothes. Yes and no. I'm not looking to wear the lingerie to put me in a better mind frame. Not being in the mind frame is what is preventing me from wearing the clothes I love. I miss my style and how it made me feel. I'm glad that starkizzer responded because I know she likes lingerie. It seems as if smrt does too. She looks sexy and confident in it too. (I have such a crush on her ) I was looking for like minded people to give me advice on what they wear and what designers they recommend. I'm going to look into Hips and Curves to see if I can find what I want. I agree. I love shoes. I haven't worn my hot stilletos because I haven't felt like I have my balance back. I have some great shoes. |

I really love wearing lace when i need that extra little bit of something, even if I'm the only one who knows I'm wearing it. I'd also agree with mixed that the right pair of shoes can TOTALLY change my mood, and I am not at ALL a fashionista.

oops, I could have shared a link.
this site has everything. (including beautiful luxury pantyhose...if you're into that sort of thing.) I've purchased items from them a few times. BareNecessities.com - Bras, Underwear, Shapewear, Plus Size ---------- Post added at 01:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:16 AM ---------- actually, I guess they don't have much in the way of fancy lingerie, do they?...but what they have is very nice ---------- Post added at 01:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:19 AM ---------- *drool* but they do have pantyhose to die for...must stop looking.

Other ideas for helping yourself feel sexier:
Perfume: I always feel great when I spritz on a bit of my Clinique Happy. I've been told that it smells really good on me and I love getting a whiff of it throughout the day. Jewelry: Anything pretty or just cool and unique makes me feel a bit more confident and like I "pop" a little bit more. Since I have gotten my ears pierced and gauged to a larger size, I love wearing cool earrings. I have cool glass ones and the carved swans seem to put a bit of a sultry swagger in my step. Odd I know, but I don't think its something that people think about. Think about it. It is the reason why women wear pearls and diamond earrings. These styles are not for everyone. Instead of the standard white pearls I prefer a set of black fresh water pearls, more my style. Though, I do have a set of white ones for when I want to look a bit more elegant. Find some jewelry that is fitting for you. Does wonders for me. Socks: I love, love, LOVE knee high socks. Not the rugby kind you wear (though those are pretty cool), but I have several sets of knee high socks from Target that are argyle styled and in pretty colors. I love getting dressed in the morning and strutting around in bra, boy shorts and knee highs before getting completely dressed. They are so fun and funky, yet cute as hell. Bras: Like I said before, I wear a Frederick's bra everyday. Exxtreme Cleavage Bra They make me feel sexy and they are thus far the only bra that I have found to fit me dependably. I know I can walk into a store/order online a 38D and it will fit the exact same as all my other ones. Plus, I love looking down and seeing the epic cleavage it creates. My nipples are well inside the bra and I don't feel like I'm about to spill out. Plus you can take the "cleavage padding" out if need be. Mine also have lasted for a very long time. Undies: Most days I rock cotton boy shorts from Target. They often have really cute ones in the "5 for $20" bin and they are comfy, don't stretch a lot during the day and come in fun colors and patterns. I have a pair that have peacocks on them. Corsets: Its no secret that I love corsets. And now that I have real ones (steel boning) I want to wear one everyday. The under-bust: Black Silk with Greek Key Design Underbust Corset that smrt bought me for my birthday is awesome and really isn't uncomfortable. I wore it all night when we were in Vegas while we walked the strip. I think they look amazing over a smart button up blouse with a pencil skirt. Plus it improves my bad posture and seems to help the back not be in pain from the scoliosis. Speaking of pencil skirts...I have discovered I like skirts since buying a few of these. I have bought two nice ones from Target (can you tell I like Target? ) I just bought this recently and I love how confident and sexy I feel in it. Mossimo® Women's TRS Pencil Skirt - Black Herringbone : Target I know I have more ideas...my brain is just a bit foggy P.S. Feelings mutual
