torch lighters
does anyone know where I might be able to get a torch lighter?
the lighter must have a thin torch flame like this: http://www.a1cigarlighters.com/image...ium-ii-lit.jpg NOT this kind of flame: http://www.backcountry-equipment.com...er/flame1a.JPG right now, i'm looking at this site (also nicly designed): http://www.getlit.com what do you think? |
Try a local gas station or smoke shop. That's where I've seen dozens of them.
|
yup..............smoke shops or head shops got 'em.
|
As long as you don't actually plan on lighting/smoking anything. Those lighters never really work well.
|
sigh... they sell them in hardware stores called Mini Butante Torch.... most people using them smoke crack.
|
smoking's extremely disgusting
i just like to play with fire anyone know if there are any other places online i can order them? the site i had up there (http://www.getlit.com) has the lighters at $ 37(after S&H) which i think is a little to much and i did see some mini torches at home depot but they're a little too big to carry in my pocket |
I've had a few; I got them at the dollar store and flea markets. They only last a few months if you're using them for extended periods of time, but for a dollar, hey, you can't lose!
|
anyone know any good brands (ie $25) or are they all the same so i should just get a shitty $10 one?
|
Torch lighters are teh suck, they're really cool at first but even $100 lighters crap out....... My dual flame Colibri isn't a torch lighter but it's cool and has lasted quite awhile, it you're set on a torch lighter a Colibri is your best bet.

torches are great if you need to set someones house on fire in the rain or wind. They usually take butane and butane is really cheap. As long as you don't get a really cheap one, they should last a long time. Just refill as needed.

Mini butane lighters are cheap and can be found at your neighborhood Ace, Lowe's, or Home Depot. Some car parts stores even carry them.
Besides, you could have much more fun with something like this: http://www.lowes.com/lkn?action=prod...5-717-ST1100TS |
heh you can light your cigarette then wire up a breadboard without missing a beat :)

I got one in the french market in new orleans for 3 dollars. Awesome on the aesthetic, but the flame incinerates rather than lights. Just a nice piece in my collection.

For the very occassional cigar, I use my Colibri:

this is the basic design of mine btw (however mine is much better, all stainless steel):

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but I've owned several of these and they don't usually work too well. I mean, they do for a little while, but then the sparks stop working, or the fuel runs out too fast, or they just stop lighting for whatever reason. Don't bother trying to refill them either, cause that always seems to really screw them up.
Eh... whatever. Try not to burn the house down. |
Zippo, can't go wrong with a Zippo.
