I had the same thing happen to me last summer bud so I feel your pain; I'm still kind of dealing with it.

I'd also treat you to a tasty beverage if I could but I recommend the following: call a buddy, take a friday off work, and go camping for the weekend. In the woods, not some camp site. Go where you need to do everything for yourself. Bring a couple books, a hammer/nails, water/food, whatever, and build a camp. In essence it's kind of like building a new life for yourself. It worked wonders for me.

I have been mostly single for a few years now, and though I miss the companionship, I am fiercely independent and like things my own way. I'm not sure I will ever be able to be in a long-term committed relationship again. I want to have kids some day. That is my only hesitation. My last long-term stint ended badly and sometimes I still feel the bitterness even though I'd never take him back. Well, it doesn't help that he married the rebound girl. But I'm pretty sure I still got the better deal.

I'm single. I see no reason to be bitter about it. Right now that's the way I prefer it. Some day that may change, right now though I'm happy to get up each day and decide what I want to do or what to (or not to) spend money on. That's not saying if the right woman appeared in my life tomorrow I'd pass. But she'd have to be a damn near prefect match.

I do wish several of my friends would stop with the "Have you met _________? She's really nice and really single." Why do other people assume you need an SO if you're single? Why do they feel it's their mission in life to find you someone? I will never understand people who do this.

I am single. The only thing I miss about being with someone is what happens between 10pm-6am. Everyone loves sex, and I am a sucker for sleeping and cuddling with someone. Sometimes I think about how I should get married and start a family. Then I go to walmart and get to hear all the kids scream and cry. I get so much more done and I can do what I want. I love it being single.

Been single for six months now. I am lonely and have no skills when it comes to meeting women. I have drank more alcohol in the past 6 months than the previous 10 years combined.

Oddly, the only things I miss is the sex (though rare it was anyway), my dog, and the extra income.

I have lost 35 pounds, stopped smoking, been paying down my (our) debt, look better than I ever have, yet have zero confidence in myself.

Single since 2005ish. Don't enjoy it at all, wish I was dating someone, but the gods have other ideas for me. That and I have huge self-esteem issues. I think I am the sexiest man on the planet, but the mirror never lies.

Total agreement here. going on just over 5 years of a completely loveless marriage. I wish I were single-then I could at least have fun. Its like being in prison-no fun or money for me. Nothing like getting yelled at for everything all the time. The worst part is I never figured it would come to this. Been thinking divorce for about a year-can't pull the trigger yet despite being miserable. Soon, hopefully
