pathetic partisanship.

The main difference is that I don't beleive that a single person would have been even remotely surprised if GWB had said it.

[sarcasm] Clearly impeachment is the next step. [/sarcasm]

What is most interesting about this, is as others have pointed out the differences between Obama saying something like this and Bush saying it. Bush would have been crucified for at least a short time until some other non-issue popped up.

I just hope there was something worth a damn going on in Burbank that day to make the tax dollars spent on security worth Obama showing his gob on Leno.

Obama Apologizes to Special Olympics Head Shriver (Update1) - Bloomberg.com

I know Leno tapes, I didn't know Obama apologized BEFORE the show aired. That changes my opinion about things a tad bit. Now I wonder how much was set up to draw audience "hey Martha, the prez made a gaffe he had to apologize for, we need to watch this", attention to a Kennedy cause (not that it isn't worthy of attention, it is a very good organization), and Obama trying to stoke his image as a "regular" guy, even one who makes mistakes and admits them.

Hmmm... course I see conspiracy in everything. I mean no one would have just thought of editing that little gaffe out like they have been known to do for true "stars".

It wasn't the Tonight Show, it was the Arsenio Hall Show. And Clinton got a lot of flak from his own party for that appearance. Something about petty pandering for votes. But yes, it was very cool and helped his image with younger voters.
