So what are you doing to celebrate the Fourth of July?
 

I'll be down in Austin visiting some friends. Just curious how everyone else planned on celebrating Independence Day....

There are so many festivals and concerts, air shows and the like going on down here. Plenty of fireworks shows so I'll be spending time doing that and having big time food with family, friends and assorted other loved ones. :D

I will be on a lake deep in the woods of Maine, "roughing it" in my 35 foot travel trailer.

The kids are all planning separate celebrations with their friends. So we won't spend the day with the grandkids this year.

I think we're going to plan to BBQ and enjoy a day for just the two of us. Of course, we have to watch our favorite 4th of July movies (The Music Man and 1776).

We are going to a parade and then having a BBQ at home. Relax.

no, my father works every holiday except thanksgiving and christmas and my friends are gone or drunk or both.

metaphoricly the 4th is important. as an eventful day-wise i forget it exists. another day.

As for us, the parade passes right in front of our house. We get to set up a picnic tent and some lounge chairs and watch it from our front lawn. Can't beat that.

I was thinking of flying a plane into the Aliens' death beam while their shields are out thus showing everyone how to bring down their ships.

In all seriousness probably nothing but I might see if some friends don't have any plans and just hang out.

Going to my mother's house.
She lives in a lakeside community, right by the lake.
They have lots of events, food, fireworks & cuties.

It will be a nice relaxing time,
without all the traffic headaches.

My buddies got a band, a permit to block off the street, and a noise permit........sounds like a good party to me

Man, me and my friends are getting wasted, blowing shit up, and watching South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.
But we're all getting together for one core reason.
That night is C***y Intervention Night. Ya see, one of my friends is being played by a girl really badly, and shes pulling the wool over his eyes. He won't listen to anyone but her, but on the 4th, we're all going to bombard him, because something must be done. All the guys out there, you know how bad it sucks when a friend is horribly whipped? Well not only is he whipped like a ship full of slaves, he's blind to the fact that he's being played remorselessly. So something must be done!

I'm going to watch the fireworks show put on by my neighbors. It's great when you live near a bunch of cops and firemen, they always have the best fireworks on the 4th. :)

I'm heading over to my home town of Chicago tomorrow. Going to see the fireworks and stuff my face at the taste of Chicago. I live in LA, but I try to make it to Chicago for the 4th, it's the best time to be in the city.

what, if anything, do you plan on doing July 4th?

absolutely nothing :)

The day where we all bow down to the dead presidents and rejoice in our lackluster new ones. Eh. Chalk me up for the burgers, etc etc crowd. I may kill some of my neighbors too. Hope my guests don't investigate those hamburgers too closely.

Hang out with the family, eat some barbeque, and watch some fireworks. Pretty standard 4th of July activities for me.

I work 10am- 7pm. At least I get off in time for the fireworks.

If I wasn't working that night I'd be going to Avon, Colorado and watching the fireworks above Nottingham Lake (best damn fireworks in Colorado in my opinion). But, the call of double-time was too tempting for my broke ass.

Getting a bunch of Fireworks, glueing them all together with Rubber Cement, then throwing a flame and running.

I think I'll get to know my neighbor a little better. :suave:

lame yeah but no bbq and I don't my buddies will be out this early cause my birthdays the 6th.

I'll be going to work at 8am and staying there until 5pm. Then i'll go home and not drink as i have to play football on Saturday... alas, we don't get to celebrate July 4th
