That's random, I came across this exact video the day before yesterday and laughed. Anyways, what surprises me the most is that nobody tried to punch the bouncer out. There would be a whole whack of people there to get your back.

That footage is simply...great! I remember seeing this a few years ago and I still get a chuckle out of it every time.
The story goes something like this. Cobain had taken his guitar to either a monitor or sound board earlier in the set and damaged it beyond repair. The large security fellow was pretty upset about it and decided to take a few liberties with Kurt when he dived into the crowd...and you can see the results in the above video. As I understand it the band finished their set while the whats his name was taken to the hospital and stitched up. He later returned to the club looking for a fight but the band was leaving, all he managed to do was punch out the window as car sped away. Pretty funny though.

Thank you, it was driving me nuts trying to remember the venue this happened in. I used to know the security fellows name too...but that's been lost over the years as well.
