Know Your Meme: Get Down / Geddan

The above initially introduced me to this video series produced by "The Rocketboom Institute for Internet Studies",
which analyzes popular internet phenomenons and their progression amongst the masses.
From the several videos I've watched over the past few days, it's not too shabby a production.
It also enlightens me on some obscure videos or trends of which I've never heard of (Tay Zonday), and I get caught up just a little bit.

P.S. The "Geddan" song is super-catchy.

I totally love the language "Engrish"!

Kohmi Hirose - Promise ... the original music video isn't much more than a monochromatic Audi commercial, but that's the original artist if you'd like to hear more.

Know your meme is more than just a youtube series; also known as the Internet Meme Database, it's an exhaustive resource on internet memes. It provides videos, links, and even tracks popularity by Google trends.

I just learned how to pronounce it two weeks ago, it can't be that tiring.

I've avoided a majority of them for the most part: also, I don't associate with too many people from 4chan (meaning: none at all), and from what I gather from various sources, most of these "internet fads" have a starting spark in the depths of that particular community, so i don't become exposed to them until I'm 2-3 years too late.
