The husband having a fling and spreading HIV to his wife is becoming cliché. Furthermore, the guy doesn't always get it from another man, but a woman with whom he's having an affair.
This is why sex/health educators stress the use of condoms, even in monogamous relationships unless you are actively trying to have a baby. Because while you feel you trust your partner's loyalty, their loyalty isn't always a reality. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Those who are most at risk for contracting HIV/AIDS are heterosexual women (typically contracting it from their partner they thought was also monogamous).
