One dream was powerful to me not by the dream itself but by events surrounding the dream. I was about 10 or 11. Had a dream about having a bomb scare at my elementary school and the Kindergarten teachers refused to let the kids leave the building claiming it was simply a false alarm. Eventually some teachers went back in and fetched the Kindergarten kids and reprimanded the teachers. Once they got out there was an explosion and some students were injured. As I was dreaming it I got up and sleepwalked out to the livingroom and when my mother called to me (she was sitting there watching TV) I just turned around and went back to bed. She then came to my room and woke me and told her the dream.
The next day a similar incident actually happened at a school and we heard it on the news. It was much like me dream and my mother was amazed. She is a very religious person and believed it was somewhat of a spiritual experience. I don't remember what the news was exactly now since I was so young. The dream is still vivid in my mind and I remember paying attentiong to my intuition and dreams much more after that. Freaky - My dream kinda belongs in paranoia but you asked about powerful dreams. This was affected me a lot.
