I think that I have been exposed to WAAAAY too much marketing... but the reason that they start with medium is that the "children's size" is what they might consider to be small.
This is the only logical reasoning that i could come up with so that my brain didn't exploded when I first started seeing that there is no such thing as a "small" size.
Then again there should also be some truth in advertising... the sizes should be "1- sip", "1-gulp", "average size cup", "a cup with some extra to go" and then for supersize it should be "bladder buster" then again i'm sure taht someone could come up with much better terms then these... (or I should start taking some medication... :P )
