Or if it was revenge, maybe more for what Frank did to him - because it wasnt his fault Gretchen was run over really, the bully threw her into the road.
Isnt there a part where Donnie apologises to Frank, in the movie theatre?
And when he kills him, he just looks so calm, it didnt seem like he did it in rage
