Yeah I picked up Delicatessen about 6 months ago and thought it was pretty wild! I liked it though.
I just finished my first film class and of all the directors I want to look into that I learned in it, Benuel stood out to be the oddest and most interesting.
I've never heard of El Topo or The Holy Mountain. I'll look into them. Thanks
