getting those extra couple reps and fatiguing your muscle even more isn't what you want unless you want to land your butt in the surgery room...If you want to build strength do 5 sets of 5 on a weight that you can comftorably do. It shouldn't be so hard that you have to have someone help you with the last few reps. If you lift weights on a regular schedule you will get stronger, but if you don't know what you are doing in the weight please ask somebody because its very easy to hurt yourself without even knowing that you're doing it.
