As for the coffee table, it's a what is now known as a Rover V8. The design was bought from GM in the 60's and has been in Rover 3500's, Triumph Stag's, TR8's, MGB GT V8's, TVR's, Land Rover's, Range Rover's, and lots of small manufatures like Marcos and Morgan.
This dovetails nicely with my observations. I'd like to see some pics of that Porsche V8 for comparison purposes, tho.
