i think it's wierd as hell that someone else posted the same thing, but then again if it's a digital clock, 11:11 is one of the comparatively few recognizable patterns that will show up (4 vertical lines).
thanks jujueye for letting us know what that's called. there was a particular time on the clock that i always noticed a while back, but by now i forget what it is
but i can try to expand the explanation -- you keep noticing 11:11 because maybe your daily routine often puts you in the same place at the same time, but more so that once you've seen it once or twice it becomes familiar. you don't notice a coincidence with all the other times on the clock, because they're not familiar or recognizable! another example that illustrates this effect: there was a guy in my town who covered his car in astroturf, and everyone was saying how you always see the astroturf car everywhere you go. well of course it's just that it's recognizable -- no one notices "the tan minivan" or "the red ford" because there's nothing unique about it -- there's tons around.
