indeed. I will say, though, that classes can be fun. also, even if you somehow succeed (hypothetically) in learning a good bit of Japanese from watching subbed anime, you'd still be boned - you wouldn't know what any of the kanji meant, or how to write them, or any of the grammar/rules that apply to them.
