Another anime question

Do you think it's possible to learn the language from watching enough non-dubbed anime? reading the subtitle while you hear the other language seems like a good way, and fun (unlike taking a class )

Most of the narration won't apply to you. You'll end up talking like a schoolgirl.

Japanese has a LOT of forms. You might gather some vocabulary but the nuts and bolts of the language are best learned in a class.

Keep on rolling. It only hurts for a little while.

Anything is possible. I would think it would be very difficult as the phrases would not be repeated which is a very common way to learn a language.

I'm pretty sure most of the translations are rather loose so it can sound more coherent to us westerners

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

You can learn a little bit, like stock phrases and such. I learned this much, myself.

However, if you take even an introductory class or book (I did the latter), you can learn a lot from watching anime. Of course, you can learn even more by actually talking to someone fluent in Japanese but this isn't as easy as finding anime...

This it very true. there are a lot of things that are translated very differently just so we westerners can comprehend especially when you are talking about fansubs. for the most part They are really translating concepts, not words.

indeed. I will say, though, that classes can be fun. also, even if you somehow succeed (hypothetically) in learning a good bit of Japanese from watching subbed anime, you'd still be boned - you wouldn't know what any of the kanji meant, or how to write them, or any of the grammar/rules that apply to them.
