Doing things gently. High impact without low impact warm-ups equals high impact injury. With the winter months setting in on the East Coast I need to make sure that my training partners warm up very well. After an injury to my right shoulder I had to change my training regimen, and realize that I couldn't do the things I used to do right after. I think its all behavior modification. If it hurts, don't do it. And I agree with the massage advice. It works wonders.
