This doesn't just apply to people who have committed crimes. It applies to people who voice displeasure with the government. Maybe this doesn't include you right now, but maybe it could in the future. This isn't an act against terrorism, its an act against dissent.
The government is always looking to squash dissent and it is up to us as American citizens to make sure this doesn't happen. President Bush thinks "There ought to be limits to freedom". President Clinton wanted to limit the personal rights of Americans for the betterment of the government. As Ari Fleischer said, "'There are reminders to all Americans
that they need to watch what they say, watch what they do". This is just another reminder courtesy of Ashcroft.
