I think the best thing would be to go and look for yourself. Monitors are inherently subjective so what somebody here on the TFP thinks is good might end up bugging the hell out of you. When trying it, use it like it's going to be used for, to make sure that it's what you expect.
And find a store that carries the exact model that you're looking to buy, because, as longjohns exemplified, there can be major differences across the product line of a single manufacturer.
