Problem with acne is it's more an overgrowth of normal skin bacteria rather than an infection (hence you can't 'catch' it off people). Though, seeing as some bacteria are more likely to cause problems than others it may be possible...
And, as butthead says, there are plenty of really pretty good treatments for acne available from your doctor.
