I had pretty much the same outlook when i saw the movie when it came out.. was in the throws of depression, had been wanting to see this for a while. very inspiring imo, someone being able to rise above his confinements and find something worth living for. as has been said before, sandler gives, in my mind, the best performance of his career to date
