Alien, Aliens, Predator, Aliens & Predators, Predators & Aliens - it just keeps getting worse with every subsequent film.
The original Alien is a classic of science fiction, no doubt (not withstanding Sigourny Weaver), as is the original Predator. But the attempts to reboot by combining are B-flicks at best, pop-corn fluff, and just not all that exciting to watch or own.
Ownership being the determining factor for me. If I like a movie well enough to own it, it's worth repeated watching. Franchises I've given up on, I don't want to own the subsequent installments or reboots.
